Nobody expected much from the Las Vegas Raiders this season, but a Week 1 upset win over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football got their 2021 campaign off to a good start.

The Raiders will now hit the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2, who pulled off an upset of their own in the opening week of the season by taking down the Buffalo Bills 23-16.

The two teams are complete opposites in terms of strengths and weaknesses. The Raiders will bring their offense which led the NFL in yards gained in Week 1 (491) to face one of the best defenses in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Steelers offense, which ranked 29th in yards gained in Week 1 (252) will face a Raiders defense that allowed the Ravens to put up over 400 yards.

In a battle of strength vs strength and weakness vs weakness, which team will come out on top?

Raiders vs. Steelers Prediction and Pick

I’m sticking with my preseason prediction that the Las Vegas Raiders aren’t as bad as many people seem to think they are. Are they a Super Bowl contender? No. But they had one of the best offenses in the league last season and they proved that they still are in Week 1 when they put up 491 yards against the best defense from last season.

If the Raiders can put up that kind of yardage against the Ravens, then they have the capability to move the ball on this Steelers defense that completely stifled the Bills offense in Week 1.

I’m still not a believer in the Steelers, especially because of their offensive line. They were 29th in offensive yards gained (252) and needed a blocked punt touchdown on special teams to secure the win.

I’ll take the Raiders and the points in this one. Raiders +5.5 is my official pick.
