RBC Heritage Dark Horse Picks (Long Shots Have Good History at Harbour Town Golf Links)
Don't let the Masters hangover get you too down, we have another exciting PGA Tour event set to take place this week, the RBC Heritage!
I've already given you my full betting preview and outright picks, but let's focus on a few dark horses who could win this event. After all, if you like long shot bets, this is the perfect tournament to target a few as three of the last four winners of the event have had longer than 125/1 odds to win.
Let's dive into my top three longshot bets to win the RBC Heritage. All odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.
Longshot Bets to Win RBC Heritage
Joel Dahmen +12500
As I pointed out in my betting preview, it's a smart idea to target accurate hitters who can suffer from a lack of distance off the tee at other courses. Joel Dahman fits the bill, as he ranks 12th in driving accuracy and eighth in greens in regulation. He's made the cut in both previous starts at the RBC Heritage. You could do much worse at 125/1 than Dahman.
Brendon Todd +15000
Brendon Todd has been a boom or bust golfer the past couple of years, and with a T8 finish in his last start at the Valero Texas Open, he may be hearing up for a hot streak. He already has a fourth place finish at Harbour Town, and his style of play fits the course well.
He ranks 11th in driving accuracy and 10th in putting so far this season, which are two promising stats to lean on this week.
Brian Stuard +15000
You want to bet on an accurate driver this week? Well, how about the most accurate driver in the field? Brian Stuard hits 71.86% of fairways, which leads the field heading into this week's event. He also has two top 10 finishes already this season, and he's thrived at Harbour Town throughout his career.
He's made the cut here every year since 2014, and has three top 20 finishes including an 18th place finish last year.
Bonus Pick: Adam Svensson (+15000)
As a little bonus, I'm tossing in FanSided's Cody Williams' longshot pick to win. He broke down why he likes the Canadian Adam Svensson as a dark horse in his betting preview which you can read here.
Here is what he has to say:
"This is a well I’ve dipped my toe into on numerous occasions but I just love what Svensson brings to the table, particularly on a course that’s shorter and can play to his ball-striking prowess. We saw the Canadian threaten at The Honda Classic, which demands accuracy and precision more than distance — which sounds a lot like the RBC Heritage. At these long odds with his game, especially if he can even just be average with the putter, Svensson could be a very live sleeper."
