Saints vs. Falcons Updated Odds and Prediction: What Bettors Need to Know
By Matt De Saro
The Atlanta Falcons wrap up their regular season at home against the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. The Saints must win if they have a chance to make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Falcons only have the chance of spoiling the Saints’ season to play for. The Saints also need the Los Angeles Rams to beat the San Fransisco 49ers, but none of that matters if they lose to Atlanta.
The Saints have suffered through an up and down season filled with key injuries. They are 8-8 but have won three of their last four. The Falcons, on the flip side, are 7-9, out of the playoffs and showing little signs of any life left. The pair have already played once this season when the Saints won 27-25 in Week 9.

Saints vs. Falcons Prediction and Pick
After most, including me, had counted the Saints down and out after a slew of injuries ravaged their offense, they remain in the hunt for the playoffs. They just keep finding ways to win. The question is, how long can they keep it up? Well, with Sean Payton calling the shots, it appears the Saints are far from out of tricks to keep winning games in tough spots. He has really pulled his team together despite all the issues they have faced and we are here in Week 18 talking about the playoffs.
The Saints are in need of a win here but will need their defense to step up and keep the Falcons in check. This could very well be the last game that Matt Ryan ever plays and he won’t want to go down without a fight.
The Saints did get some bad news on Thursday after it was announced in today’s injury report that Mark Ingram was out of practice today after being a limited participant yesterday. While this doesn't bode well for the Saints' already limited depth, the Falcons have it way worse. Atlanta barely has any offensive weapons and lean way too hard on RB Cordarrelle Patterson to get their offense moving.
As much as I want Matt Ryan to go off in what might be his final game in Atlanta, he lacks the tools needed to do so. The Falcons have also yet to cover a single game at home this year leaving them with an 0-6 ATS record. I think the Saints once again find a way to win a game they need and cover the short spread along the way.
Pick: New Orleans Saints -4 (-110)
