Sportsbooks Rooting for Auburn, Penn State, and Alabama in Week 6
By Ben Heisler
Public bettors are once again backing big name favorites this week in college football. Meanwhile, the sharps are on a huge home underdog to take down the biggest name in the game.
WynnBET Sportsbook released their three highest liability games for Saturday and two of the three highest ranked teams in the country are right at the top:
- No. 2 Georgia (-15) at No. 18 Auburn
- No. 3 Iowa (-1.5) vs. No. 4 Penn State
- Texas A&M (+17.5) vs. No. 1 Alabama

The Bulldogs are seeing plenty of action from both the public as well as the sharps this week on the road at Auburn, moving the original opening line from -13 to -15. Georgia at WynnBET has received 86.6% of the spread bets, but even more of the money. 95.5% of the handle has come in on the Bulldogs to cover against the Tigers.
Additionally in the SEC, Texas A&M has also received strong support from the sharps as a major home underdog vs. No. 1 Alabama this week. The Aggies have lost two straight games, including to No. 16 Arkansas and then unranked Mississippi, both at home, but bettors believe they'll bounce back as Alabama might be ripe for a trap game after a dominant victory over Ole Miss last week.
This is one of the games where the sharps and public are in disagreement on. Alabama has received 85.7% of the spread bets at WynnBET, but Texas A&M has 60.3% of the betting handle.
Finally, in the Big Ten, a key showdown between No. 3 Iowa and No. 4 Penn State has received much more support for the Hawkeyes at home. After opening as 1.5-point home underdogs, No. 3 Iowa has been bet all the way up three points to -1.5 at home. 82.4% of the bets are backing the Hawkeyes, including 90.4% of the money.
