Our BetSided best bets for tonight's college basketball slate return on this Wednesday evening, and while we don't have the massive bluebood showdowns like we saw on Tuesday night, there's still plenty of noteworthy action available to wager on.

The game of the night takes place in Austin, where the No. 2 Gonzaga Bulldogs take on the Longhorns as a short underdog on the road. That's noteworthy when you consider that Gonzaga has not been an underdog of any kind in the regular season since they played at Arizona in 2019 as a 2-point dog, winning outright 84-80.

BetSided's Peter Dewey has a betting preview, along with a pick for the game of the night here, but is it his "best bet" for this Wednesday?

Let's check out the team's best bets on the board below.

Florida Gulf Coast vs. Tennessee Odds, Prediction and Pick

It might seem odd to back a Tennessee team at a massive number that just lost by double digits in Nashville to Colorado in their last game, while Florida Gulf Coast already has a road win at USC this year. However, after looking through some of these teams' numbers, this is simply not a good matchup for the Eagles in Knoxville.

Tennessee went cold in the second half of the Colorado game that they led by two at halftime, shooting just 27% from downtown. Back in the friendly confines of Thompson-Boling Arena, I expect the Vols to get back in rhythm on offense. Senior Santiago Vescovi should have an immediate bounce-back, after shooting just 2-13 overall in his last game, despite being a 40% three-point shooter.

The Vols are top 24 in adjusted offensive and top 4 in adjusted defense at KenPom this year, while the Eagles rank 195 and 224 respectively. They also play slow, which benefits Tennessee to get back in their defensive sets.

The earlier results indicate the Eagles hanging with the Volunteers, but the numbers tell a much different story. - Ben Heisler

Iowa vs. Seton Hall Odds, Prediction and Pick

We've got a unique contrast of styles between one of the best defensive teams in Seton Hall, against one of the most dynamic offenses in the country in Iowa.

The Hawkeyes have scored 89 and 112 points in their first two games, while Seton Hall has limited their opponents to just 96 total points.

Ultimately, I trust the defense of Shaheen Holloway's club at home more than Fran McCaffrey's squad on the road. The Pirates are loaded in length with three different ACC transfers, and also bring back Tyrese Samuel and Kadary Richmond. Iowa has a terrific scorer in Kris Murray leading the way, but ultimately, the defensive versatility Seton Hall can show against Iowa will be the difference in a toss-up on the board. - Reed Wallach

South Dakota State vs. Arkansas Odds, Prediction and Pick

The Jackrabbits are getting far too many points, even in a tough environment in Fayetteville.

Both of these teams feature elite offensive units, and so far this season, the Jackrabbits (2-1) have played to their strengths, and gotten wins against two quality opponents in Boise State and St. Bonaventure. Their only loss so far has been by one-point to Akron.

The Razorbacks have a very good defense, ranked fifth in KenPom adjusted efficiency, which will be the best defense by far that SD State has faced all season. But this is a Jackrabbits team that can hit from all over the court, shooting 33.3% from downtown with a 53% effective field goal percentage.

We know the Razorbacks won't shoot from downtown (319th in the country), so if South Dakota State makes shots, especially their 3-point shots, they'll keep it closer than most expect and cover on the road. - Peter Dewey
