Top MLB Picks and Predictions Today (Back Yankees, Brewers and One Total on Wednesday)
Who's ready to get June of to a hot start betting on MLB?
The BetSided team of Reed Wallach, Matt De Saro and Joe Summers have you covered on Wednesday with some of their top picks in MLB with all odds via WynnBET:
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs Prediction and Pick
Not to be confused with the actor who played George Costanza's on Seinfeld, Jason Alexander is making his big league debut after playing in the minors since 2014. Alexander will be facing a Cubs offense that has sputtered after a hot April, the team was bottom 10 in wRC+ and on-base percentage last month. Even if Alexander operates as an opener, he will be passing the ball along to a top 10 Milwaukee bullpen.
On the other side, Kyle Hendricks has struggled a ton this season. He is 2-5 with a 5.20 ERA, and his FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) hints that he has benefitted from some positive variance in the field, sitting at 5.64. So, Hendricks may be lucky to have this ERA. His walk rate is up, his K rate is down, and he can't keep the on the ground (36% ground ball rate this season, lowest of his career).
At this price, even with question marks around Alexander, I'm going to go with the sum of the parts of the first place Brewers to outlast the Cubs and win on the road in a projected coin flip.

Chicago White Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction and Pick
While the White Sox are not in great form right now, they have one of the hottest pitchers on the mound today to try and turn things around. Michael Kopech enters tonight's showdown North of the border with a 1.29 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 42 innings.
He’s only 1-1, but that is a byproduct of how bad the White Sox’s offense has played. Kopech has allowed just three runs combined over his last four starts. Three of which were scoreless appearances.
The last two of those games came against the dangerous New York Yankees. So, it’s reasonable to assume that Kopech will have another solid start here. This will be Kopech’s third career appearance against the Blue Jays. His first two were complete disasters that left him with a 33.75 ERA and 4.50 WHIP in 1 ⅓ innings of work against Toronto. I assume things will go much better tonight.
Hyun Jun Ryu will make his sixth start of the year for the Blue Jays after three consecutive strong appearances in May. In three starts, Ryu saw his ERA go from 5.48 to 1.72 after dominating the Angels, Reds, and Rays. He gave up just three runs last month and struck out seven while walking two.
This could end up being a very low-scoring pitching duel if each of these guys continues to pitch the way they have over the last few weeks. I’m willing to take a chance that the White Sox continue to struggle while the Blue Jays regress a bit at the plate.

Los Angeles Angels vs New York Yankees Prediction and Pick
Listed at +800 to win the American League Cy Young award over at WynnBET, Nestor Cortes has been as dominant as any pitcher in baseball.
He's in the 96th percentile in both expected ERA and expected batting average while ranking second among all pitchers in actual ERA, second in opponent batting average, and third in walks and hits per innings pitched (WHIP). The Yankees are 6-1 in Cortes' last seven starts and are well-positioned to notch another victory behind him today.
The Angels' pitching staff is really slumping. In their six-game losing streak, they've allowed an average of 6.14 runs per game. Not a single time in Cortes' nine starts has an opponent reached six runs, so Los Angeles is at a big disadvantage before the first pitch is even thrown tonight.
Reid Detmers should have Angels fans excited, but he's in over his head against a New York lineup that can destroy the baseball. The Yankees lead MLB in home runs per game, and Detmers has given up four in his last two starts. He does a great job limiting base runners, but when he gets hit, he gets hit hard.
And Cortes doesn't allow many hits or get hit hard when he does. He's surrendered four or fewer hits in seven of his nine outings and has a great opportunity to add to his Cy Young resume against a star-studded Angels lineup.
Over their last 19 games as a home favorite, the Yankees are 15-4. Meanwhile, the Angels are 1-5 in their last six as an underdog. Both of those trends continue as Cortes dominates and Detmers gives up one too many long balls.
Pick: Yankees -1.5 (+115) -- Joe Summers
