Seattle Mariners vs. Miami Marlins Prediction and Pick

If you haven't picked up on what Logan Gilbert has turned into this season; you've missed out on some spectacular pitching performances.

He made 24 starts a season ago, and while the stuff remained dominant, he also gave up a bunch of home runs; allowing a whopping home-run-to-fly-ball ratio of 10.9%!

This season, he's done an exceptional job of hitting his spots; improving both his walk rate as well as allowing a HR/9 of 0.40, down from 1.28 last year.

As for Alcantara, while he's allowed slightly more than one run through the month of April (just 5 ER in 25.1 IP), he's been, for the most part terrific as well.

One thing to note is that he's continued to be successful despite his slider not getting as many swings-and-misses as in years past. While his strikeout numbers are down, Alcantara has induced a ton of weak contact, and only allowed a barrel percentage (sweet spot of the bat) to hit just 2.9% of the time.

Both offenses rank in the top 12 of baseball, but I trust both of these starting pitchers to go at least five innings and continue their dominance yet again. Rather than risk it with the game total and the bullpens; I'll put my confidence in Gilbert and Alcantara to keep the game under four total runs through five.

PICK: SEA vs. MIA FIRST FIVE INNINGS UNDER 3.5 (-120) -- Ben Heisler

New York Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction and Pick

The Yankees’ offense struggled a bit out of the gate this season, but the team has really turned things around over this eight-game winning streak.

New York is now third in Major League Baseball in OPS, fourth in runs scored and second in home runs. That’s a winning recipe in and of itself, but the Yankees have been even better on the mound, registering a 2.70 team ERA (second in the league) and striking out 199 batters (fifth in MLB).

Now they get to face a Royals team that is just 25th in team ERA and 28th in OPS this season. Simply put, Kansas City is one of the worst teams in baseball.

New York is 13-8 on the run line this season, and it has the second highest margin of victory per game in baseball at 1.9 runs.

This should be an easy sweep for New York.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction and Pick

I said a couple of weeks ago that I'd be looking to fade Dallas Keuchel early and often this season. He's just not the same pitcher he used to be, and we saw how bad things can go for him when he gave up 10 runs in the first inning to the Guardians two starts ago.

Now he gets to face an Angels team that's been rolling. Los Angeles won six in a row prior to yesterday's loss and leads the MLB in OPS.

Chicago's bullpen ranks 20th in ERA and they used four relievers yesterday, so if Keuchel gets in trouble early then it's going to be a long day for the White Sox.

Especially after getting shut out yesterday, the Angels should come out hungry in this one. I love getting Los Angeles at such a short number against one of my favorite pitchers to fade, and I think we see a lot of runs from the visitors.

I'm taking the Angels at -114, but I'm also taking their team total over four runs as well. They should score in bunches, and Keuchel hasn't shown any reason to think he can keep their explosive lineup at bay.

Pick: Angels (-114) and Angels Team Total Over 4.0 Runs (-125) -- Joe Summers
