As everyone prepares for the start of the NFL season on Thursday night, there are still seven games in Major League Baseball to wager on.

Maybe you want to parlay something in the Buffalo Bill-Los Angeles Rams game with a baseball pick, or maybe you're going to dual-screen the action on Thursday night.

Whatever you preference, the BetSided team has you covered with some of its top picks for the MLB action on Thursday, Sept. 8:

Minnesota Twins vs. New York Yankees Odds, Prediction and Pick

The Twins are putting Sonny Gray on the mound and I’m a little nervous about that. However, his last start wasn’t a complete stinker. The Yankees have also looked sluggish over the last week.

New York has the third-worst OPS in the last seven days and in the bottom 10 in the runs and hits. If New York continues to struggle at the plate, Gray might be able to get his first win in nearly a month.

Both of these teams are some of the worst teams in the league against the run line. They’re both in the bottom 10, but the Yankees are in the bottom five. I’ll take that and run with it, fading the Bronx Bombers and their struggling offense.

Washington Nationals vs. St. Louis Cardinals Odds, Prediction and Pick

Adam Wainwright hasn’t been lights out for the entire 2022 season, but when he’s on he’s one of the better pitchers in baseball as evidenced by his stretch in late August, compiling a 1.57 ERA over four starts.

The Cards are 16-11 in Wainwright’s starts, and he should be able to handle a poor Washington lineup that ranks 23rd in runs scored over the last 30 days.

Josiah Gray is also just impossible to trust, pitching to a 6.45 ERA in 10 starts since July 1. The long ball is going to be a huge issue for him, and I think this experience St. Louis lineup will have no problem putting up runs.

Chicago White Sox vs. Oakland Athletics Odds, Prediction and Pick

Dylan Cease threw a complete game one-hitter in his last start against a Minnesota team with a much better offense than Oakland has, so he should be able to dazzle again tonight. Cease now has a 2.13 ERA, nearly 200 strikeouts on the season, and nearly every advanced stat puts him in at least the top 10% of all pitchers in the league. He is the definition of elite.

Yet, the White Sox are 3-3 in his last six starts. It was his roughest stretch of the season and was bound to happen after his incredible stretch of 14 straight starts allowing one or less earned runs. I think he is back to his truly dominant ways and will close out the season incredibly strong. Plus, Chicago's offense has scored the second most runs in the league over the past week with 37.

I think the White Sox win today, and I’m willing to bet them on the run line. But if you’re a bit squeamish because of JP Sears and his 2.37 ERA, then take UNDER 7 runs at basically even money.
