The elite pitching matchups keep coming in Major League Baseball, as Justin Verlander and Dylan Cease face off on Tuesday night.

We have a pick for that game and more, with odds via WynnBET and consensus sportsbooks. Let's dive in:

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves Odds, Prediction and Pick

  • Run Line: Mets +1.5 (-165) | Braves -1.5 (+135)
  • Moneyline: Mets: +133 | Braves: -143
  • Total: 8.5 (Over -115/Under -105)

It’s hard to forget Taijuan Walker’s last start against the Braves, as he lasted just one inning and gave up eight earned runs on seven hits in a 9-3 loss. However, Walker had won three straight starts prior to the Braves outing and bounced back with six innings of two-run ball in his last start.

Charlie Morton has not been great this season, and he allowed five earned runs against the Boston Red Sox in his last game.

Rather than back a side in this matchup, especially since I was on the Mets (unfortunately) last night, I’m going to side with the OVER in this game.

Both of these starters aren’t in their best form, especially since Walker’s ERA has risen from 2.55 to 3.43 over his last four starts.

These two teams rank third and fourth in OPS over the last month, and they have the two best OVER records in baseball. Let’s root for runs in what should be a fun matchup

Lean: OVER 8.5 (-115) -- Peter Dewey

Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels Odds, Prediction and Pick

  • Run Line: Mariners: -1.5 (-105) | Angels: +1.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Mariners: -175 | Angels: +150
  • Total: 7.5 (Over -115/Under -105)

I do expect both pitcher's to show out on Tuesday. Jose Suarez is in the best form of his season and will get a Mariners team that struggles against left handed pitching. The club is 22nd in batting average against southpaws and has only scored one run against him in two starts in 2022.

While Suarez may shove at home, the Angles offense will continue to be hopless at the dish against Robbie Ray, who has allowed three runs over his last 12-plus innings. The Halos rank 28th in the big leagues hitting lefties and have also struggled against Ray this year. The team has scored two runs in 14 combined innings against the 2021 AL Cy Young winner, striking out 20 times.

The Angels bullpen and terrible fielding gives me pause, the team's disastrous ninth inning cost the under last night, so instead I'll look to the fist five innings to ensure we see no funny business late in the game.

LEAN: F5 UNDER 4 (-120) -- Reed Wallach

Houston Astros vs. Chicago White Sox Odds, Prediction and Pick

  • Run line: Astros -1.5 (+145) | White Sox +1.5 (-175)
  • Moneyline: Astros -121 | White Sox +111
  • Total: 7.0 (Over -105/Under -115)

Tonight's game is a pitching duel between the top two Cy Young candidates in Justin Verlander (1.85 ERA) and Dylan Cease (1.96 ERA).

Is there any other bet to play other than the UNDER?

The White Sox have the advantage when it comes to offense. They rank 12th in OPS vs. right-handed pitchers dating back to July 1, while the Astros rank 15th.

It's also worth noting that Verlander's worst start of the season came against this very same White Sox team. He gave up nine hits and four earned runs in just 3.2 innings.

That kind of history makes me lean towards the home team tonight.

Pick: White Sox +111 -- Iain MacMillan

Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers Odds, Prediction and Pick

  • Run Line: Athletics +1.5 (-200) | Rangers -1.5 (+165)
  • Moneyline: Athletics +105 | Rangers -115
  • Total: 8.5 (Over -105 / Under -115)

One of the main reasons that Chris Woodward was fired as manager of the Rangers is because of their record in one-run games. They were historically bad in those situations, but at least for one night, that situation was rectified with a 2-1 win over Oakland. Now, in Game 2 of this four-game series, the Rangers and interim manager, Tony Beasley, will try to extend Oakland’s losing streak to 10 games.

In Oakland’s last 10 games, the team is hitting just over the Mendonza line with an ERA over five.

JP Sears is on the mound for the second time with Oakland since being acquired from the Yankees. Sears went 5.1 innings and allowed two runs in his first start with the A’s.

On the other side, Kohei Arihara is making his first major league start of 2022 after starting 10 games in 2021. Arihara worked to a 6.64 ERA a year ago and is replacing Spencer Howard in the Texas rotation.

This game feels like an absolute mess. Oakland has a slight pitching advantage, but it is mostly unknown characters. Really what it comes down to for me is, when a team loses nine games in a row, what is to stop them from losing 10
