Aces vs. Liberty Best Bets

At some point, I expected both defenses to show up in some capacity, but so far in the series it's been all offense all the time.

Both overs have easily hit as each team is averaging more than 100 points/game in their two games. Las Vegas scored 107 in both games against the Liberty, who have fallen to the bottom half in opponent points/100 possessions (7th). Meanwhile, New York, who had the worst offense in the league the first month of the season, is now ranked third in effective field goal percentage and fourth in 3-point percentage. They've put up an average of 108.5 points per game through both meetings this year.

And that's why I'm taking the under today.

Despite Ionescu's brilliance, I can't see the Liberty keep this sustained level of offensive production going when they haven't done it all season. I get that both teams aren't great defensively right now, ranking in the bottom 5 for opponent points/100 possessions, but given the early start (where unders tend to be more prevalent), as well as an expectation for some sort of regression on both team's side, this appears to be the right side to be on, even though the small sample of games suggests otherwise. – Ben Heisler

Pick: Aces/Liberty UNDER 174.5 (-110)

Wings vs. Lynx Best Bets

Despite the Lynx having a top 5 offense in the league and neither team having an impressive defense, I’m going to back the UNDER in this one. Dallas plays at the eighth-slowest pace, while the Lynx play at the 10th-slowest pace. Both offenses will have to be extremely efficient in order to hit that mark, but I don’t see it.

Also, the Wings are one of the best UNDER bets in the WNBA right now. They’ve hit the UNDER in six of their last seven games. Dallas has missed the 80-point mark in three of its last five games as well.

Minnesota, even with the great offensive renaissance its had, is 1-2-2 against the OVER in its last five games. If recent trends accurately depict how these teams are playing right now, the UNDER looks like the way to go. – Donnavan Smoot

Pick: Wings/Lynx UNDER 166 (-110)

Mystics vs. Mercury Best Bets

The Mercury opened as a -1 favorite at several sportsbooks at home vs. the Mystics, but that was immediately bet down to +3 following their double overtime loss at home to the Minnesota Lynx. There's also some controversy surrounding Phoenix, including Diana Taurasi appearing to kick Sylvia Fowles going up for a basket with the game out of reach in overtime on Tuesday night.

Before that, star guard Skylar Diggins-Smith after multiple public beefs with head coach Vanessa Nygaard, is reportedly being shopped around, according to The IX Sports WNBA insider Howard Megdal. Sounds like a team I plan to steer clear of, even after being late to the party on a four-point swing. Washington still has a terrific defense; ranked first in opponent points/game and second in opponent points/100 possessions, and comes in with two comfortable wins on the road. I'll back them to cover the three on the road to complete their four-game road trip. – Ben Heisler

Pick: Mystics -3 vs. Mercury (-110)

Sky vs. Sparks Best Bets

The last time these teams played I backed the Sky -5 and cashed. Today, that number is down to -4.5, and I’ll back the Sky once again. Despite having an average defense (5th in defensive rating), Chicago has the best net rating in the league. The Sky’s offense is fantastic, posting a 103.9 offensive rating. They’ve won eight of their last 10 games and have looked great in that stretch.

Los Angeles has the play style to make it a game, but it’s the defense I don’t trust. The Sparks have the second-worst defensive rating in the league. If you’re going to give one of the most efficient teams a game against little resistance, I’ll take the former. – Donnavan Smoot

Pick: Sky -4.5 vs. Sparks (-110)
