Here are the plays our team is eyeing for tonight’s slate with odds coming from WynnBET Sportsbook.
Top WNBA Picks For May 19
- Sparks at Storm UNDER 160.5 (-110)
- Mystics/Dream OVER 157.5 (-110)
Sparks at Storm UNDER 160.5 (-110)
I like the Storm to win at home, but the seven-point spread is a bit too risky given their hot-cold tendencies this season. Instead, I’ll focus on the total and go with another under in the Pacific Northwest.
I was on the under in Seattle’s last game at home against the Sky, as Seattle is seemingly far more locked in defensively in their home building.
So far in 2022, they are a +21 point differential at home, compared to -31 away from Climate Pledge Arena. They also give up just over 71 points per game in their building, compared to 91 PPG outside of Seattle.
Both teams have lots of issues offensively as well. The Storm rank dead last in field goal percentage (39.4%), while the Sparks are bottom-3 in three-point percentage (31.3%). Both teams, via HerHoopStats, also are in the bottom-3 in effective field goal percentage, as well as the bottom half in points per 100 possessions.
Even with each team playing at a decent pace, I’ll back the Storm to keep playing a strong defensive game at home, as each team struggles to score. -- Ben Heisler
Mystics vs. Dream OVER 157.5 (-110)
Rhyne Howard has come into Atlanta and has gotten the Dream off the ground.Howard is leading the league in scoring right now, putting the team on her back. Atlanta is 4-1, with their only loss coming to the Aces. Today, they’ll test that record against the Washington Mystics – who are also 4-1.
Washington is a small favorite in this game, but I’m not ready to rule out the Dream in this game. That’s why I’m looking at the total in this one. The Mystics are the second-highest scoring team in the league, while the Dream have the highest-scoring player in the league.
If the Dream can get off to a good start, they’ll keep up with Washington tonight and help clear this total. -- Donnavan Smoot
