Updated World Series Odds Ahead of Wild Card Matchups
By Peter Dewey
The MLB playoff picture is set, with the New York Yankees heading to Fenway Park to play the Boston Red Sox in the American League Wild Card game and the St. Louis Cardinals taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers in L.A.
The Dodgers are favored to advance to the NLDS after winning 106 games this season, which would set up a must-see matchup with the San Francisco Giants. The Yankees, who just swept the Red Sox at Fenway in their last meeting, are favored on the road to advance to the ALDS and take on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Despite playing in the wild card game, the Dodgers remain the favorite to win the World Series in and the National League, while the Houston Astros are currently favored to advance from the AL.
Here are the latest odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to win the World Series:
Odds to Win the World Series Ahead of MLB Playoffs
- Los Angeles Dodgers: +300
- Houston Astros: +500
- San Francisco Giants: +600
- Milwaukee Brewers: +700
- Chicago White Sox: +800
- Tampa Bay Rays: +800
- New York Yankees: +1000
- Atlanta Braves: +1500
- Boston Red Sox: +1500
- St. Louis Cardinals: +2500
The biggest surprise on this list may be the Atlanta Braves, who face the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS, as they are tied with the Red Sox and below another wild card team in the Yankees.
Atlanta clearly has an easier road to a World Series, but oddsmakers don’t have much faith in the Ronald Acuna-less Braves to get it done.
While the Dodgers are in the win-or-go-home matchup in the wild card, WynnBET still has them favored to win that matchup and take down the NL West champion San Francisco Giants. Even with Clayton Kershaw and Max Muncy suffering injuries, the Dodgers are still atop the league heading into this year’s postseason.
