After a wildly entertaining WGC Dell Technologies Match Play tournament, the PGA Tour returns to TPC San Antonio this week for the Valero Texas Open.

Jordan Spieth is the defending champion and Corey Connors won the year before in 2019. Also, Charlie Hoffman has two consecutive second-place finishes.

BetSided's Iain MacMillan has you covered with an in-depth preview, but I'm going to take a look at odds to create power rankings for the best golfers in the field.

Thanks to our friends at WynnBET, let's check out the favorites to see if any are worth taking a shot on ahead of this weekend's tournament:

Valero Texas Open Power Rankings

1. Rory McIlroy (+800)

The favorite is playing in the Valero Texas Open for the first time in eight years to get set for The Masters next weekend. He took second back in 2013 and is coming off a T33 at The Player's Championship. McIlroy has two top-10's this season and hopes to reach the winner's circle for the second time (C.J. Cup Championship).

2. Jordan Spieth (+1400)

Last year's champion has a history of success in events in his home state of Texas but has been in poor form lately. He followed up a missed cut at The Player's with a T35 at the Dell Match Play, and Iain MacMillan believes you should be fading the defending champ.

3. Corey Conners (+1600)

Iain picked Conners to win in his preview and he's playing great, taking third last week in the match play tournament. Conners won this event in 2019 and finished 14th and 26th in his other two starts. As a cherry on top, he leads the field in strokes gained per round at TPC San Antonio.

4. Hideki Matsuyama (+1800)

Hideki has had a great season already and is hoping to carry that momentum into the summer. He has two victories and four top-10's and is coming off a top-20 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Ranking ninth on tour in Stokes Gained: Tee To Green, he's a worthy name at the top of the leaderboard.

5. Abraham Ancer (+2000)

Ancer has had an up-and-down season so far but may have turned a corner last week, taking fifth at the WGC Dell Match Play. His best finish in his seven starts prior to that was a T33 at The Players, so his current form may not be good enough to justify such short odds.

6. Bryson DeChambeau (+2500)

DeChambeau has been candid about the injuries he's battling that have limited him to just a handful of starts this season. He was a T58 in the match play tournament and missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open in his start before that, so he hasn't done anything to give bettors confidence in him ahead of this weekend.

7. Gary Woodland (+2800)

It feels like Woodland is due. He has two top-five performances in his last four starts and is 35th in Strokes Gained: Total on tour this season. Woodland is coming off a T21 at the Valspar Championship and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him put it altogether to finally secure another victory.

8. Adam Hadwin (+3300)

Hadwin is in great form, following up a T9 at The Players Championship with a T7 at the Valspar Championship and is an excellent fit for TPC San Antonio. He's fourth on tour in sand save percentage and 36th in Stokes Gained: Around-The-Green, so he's worth a long look as bettors build their card.

9. Si Woo Kim (+3300)

Si Woo has a history of success at TPC San Antonio, taking 23rd last year and fourth in 2019. He's a wildly volatile player but ranked fifth in Strokes Gained: Total at the match play tournament last week, so he's in strong form at a course he clearly likes.

10. Maverick McNealy (+3300)

The young phenom out of Stanford (Go Card!) has been a model of consistency this season. In his last 10 starts, he has seven top-30 finishes and is one of the best putters on tour. He ranks 30th in Strokes Gained: Total and it feels like it's only a matter of time before he breaks through for his first victory.
