As mentioned above, Cook dislocated his shoulder last Sunday and also has a torn labrum. While this injury won't keep him out for the rest of the season, it will keep him out at least this week against the Lions.

However, this shouldn't change much of this game as the Vikings have a capable backup running back in Alexander Mattison. Mattison has started in place of Cook twice this season and rushed ofr more than 100 yards in each.

The Vikings offense shouldn't miss a beat against the Lions defense, who has the fourth worst defense by EPA/Play standards. The Detroit secondary is particularly bad, worst in EPA per dropback and should not stand a chance against the likes of Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson.

The one issue with backing the Vikings is that they struggle to win with margin. The team has had two games finish with a point differential of more than seven, and has even led by seven or more in each game, yet is 5-6!

I think the Vikings pose a strong teaser piece through the key number of -7 and -3, but not much interest in laying a touchdown with a team that struggles to win big.
