Villanova Looking to Continue Lengthy Dominance Over UConn
By Joe Summers
The 21-6 #8 Villanova Wildcats take on the 19-7 #21 Connecticut Huskies tonight at 8:00 PM EST and hope to continue a stretch of dominance dating back eight years.
Already with an 85-74 victory over the Huskies earlier this month, the Wildcats may be surprised to find themselves as underdogs tonight. WynnBET Sportsbook has Villanova as 2-point underdogs and +112 on the moneyline (bet $10 to profit $11.20), so can bettors look to the road team for value tonight?

Villanova vs Connecticut Betting Trend
The Huskies are well aware they haven't beaten the Wildcats since 2014 and this represents one of their best chances to do it. UConn has a top-40 offense and defense thanks to dominant interior play. They have the 2nd-best offensive rebounding rate and 4th-best defensive 2-point shooting percentage in the country and will rely on that advantage to slow down a Villanova offense that ranks 5th nationally in adjusted efficiency.
But despite a three-game winning streak, the Huskies haven't been playing their best basketball of late. They're just 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight games and 2-4 ATS in their last six as a favorite.
While UConn has the advantage inside, Villanova's 59th-highest three-point shooting percentage provides a massive advantage over the Huskies' 193rd-ranked three-point defense. Star guard Collin Gillespie is shooting a blistering 43% from beyond the arc this season and doesn't want to be the senior that lost the streak against UConn.
Villanova has won five straight and six of their last seven road games, so they're used to emerging victorious behind enemy lines. The Huskies shot 8/20 from three in the first matchup and still lost by 11, and they'll be hard-pressed to repeat that performance against a Wildcats perimeter defense that only allows opponents to shoot 31.3% from three on the year.
I think the Wildcats should be favored in this one and love the value we're getting on a versatile Nova squad to keep their streak going. With Villanova's history in this matchup and recent performance coupled with UConn's ATS struggles, I'm all over the Wildcats to win their sixth straight against the Huskies.
Pick: Villanova +112
