The Washington Huskies were on the wrong side of the biggest upset in Week 1 of the college football season, and now they need to rebound in a hurry as they head to The Big House to take on the Michigan Wolverines.

Washington lost as a 22.5-point favorite against Montana, who is an FCS school from the Big Sky Conference.

It was an ugly showing, as their offense could barely get the ball moving all night against them.

Meanwhile, Michigan covered their Week 1 spread against Western Michigan by a mile. It entered the game as a 16.5-point favorite, and went on to win 47-14 to cover the spread by 17 points.

Many people were down on Michigan heading into this season, as the school re-signed head coach Jim Harbaugh to an extension in the offseason despite putting up disappointing results with the team so far.

With both teams having complete opposite results in Week 1, it will be interesting to see how this interconference matchup turns out on Saturday.

Washington vs Michigan Prediction & Pick

From here on out, for the rest of the season, I will be fading Pac-12 teams when they play schools outside of their conference.

They’ve faded into irrelevance on the national stage over the past decade, and outside of UCLA, they looked as bad as ever in Week 1. Oregon and USC barely got by teams from the Mountain West, and Washington lost to an FCS school. Not good!

I can’t in good conscience bet on a team that lost to a school from an FCS conference. Spare me the “they’re motivated now” or the “they can’t lose twice” takes, those mean nothing.

Michigan impressed me, Washington did not, and the spread is under a touchdown. Don’t overthink this game.

Give me Michigan -6.5.
