If you were to predict which two defenses would give up the most amount of yards in Week 1 of the NFL season, not a single person on this planet would have guessed that it’d end up being the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.

But that’s why we play the game.

The defending AFC champions and the top scoring defense from last year gave up the most yards in Week 1 of the NFL. The Chiefs allowed the Cleveland Browns to accumulate 457 yards while the Ravens gave up 491 yards in their overtime loss on Monday Night Football to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The two teams face each other in the Week 2 edition of Sunday Night Football, and WynnBET has the Chiefs currently set as 3.5-point road favorites. The total for the game is set at a high mark of 55.5.

While you may want to rush to bet on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, especially after the Ravens lost to the Raiders in Week 1, I would advise that you take caution in doing that.

While both teams were rough defensively in Week 1, there’s a key stat that you should take note of.

The Chiefs allowed 153 rushing yards against the Browns, while also allowing an astounding 5.9 yards per carry which was tied with the Giants for the highest average given up in the NFL in the opening week.

Now Kansas City has to face the top roughing offense in the NFL.

The Ravens gained 189 yards on the ground against the Raiders, and they were the top rushing team the past two seasons. If Kansas City doesn’t sure up the run defense, Lamar Jackson and his squad is going to run the ball down the Chiefs throat.

The Ravens are set as 3.5-point underdogs at home on Sunday night, which means the spread is above that magic number of three. I’m backing the Ravens and their rushing offense in this matchup, and I hope the game comes down to the wire.
