The Green Bay Packers are one of the most storied franchises in the history of sports, but they have had their share of heartbreaks over the years. The Packers have won 13 NFL championship games — nine NFL titles between 1929 and 1965, and four Super Bowl appearances in the Super Bowl era.

When Was the Packers’ Last Super Bowl Win?

In the four Super Bowls that Green Bay has appeared in, they’ve won four of five, losing to the Denver Broncos in 1997.

They won the first two Super Bowls in 1966 and 1967, they won the Super Bowl in 1996 with Brett Favre under center over the New England Patriots, and they won again in 2010 against the Pittsburgh Steelers with Aaron Rodgers as a star young quarterback.

The problem for Green Bay has been making it to the big games, especially with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is 1-4 in NFC Championship games, including losing last year at home to a visiting Tom Brady. They have the No. 1 seed in the NFC this year, meaning they’ll have home field once again if they make it past the divisional round.

Green Bay Packers Odds to Win Super Bowl 56

The Green Bay Packers are currently the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. Over on WynnBET, the Packers are currently +325 to win the whole thing. I don’t blame them.

Aaron Rodgers is playing like the MVP this season, throwing for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns, and only four interceptions.

He’s a tactician and a magician, capable of making any throw, even at this point in his career. His understanding of the game and how to manipulate defenses is up there with Brady in rare cerebral company.

Where Green Bay might struggle is against the run. The Packers ranked 30th in Rush EPA as a defensive unit this year. They gave up the second-most rushing yards per game, tied with Kansas City and Minnesota, at 4.7 yards per carry.

The Packers might be getting Jaire Alexander and Za’Darius Smith back on defense for this game, which could provide a huge boost, but if they can’t stop the San Francisco rushing attack, it could be a long day.
