After acquiring Kyle Lowry in the offseason to bolster their championship hopes, the Miami Heat secured the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and will take on the No. 8 seed after the Play-In Tournament concludes.

Led by Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Lowry, the Heat suffocated opponents defensively and look poised for a deep run in the playoffs.

I wrote yesterday why the Heat are disrespected in the market to win the Finals, but as they await their first round opponent, let's check out when they last hoisted the Larry O'Brien trophy:

When Was the Last Time the Miami Heat Won the NBA Finals?

The Heat have won three championships in their 32 seasons, with the most recent coming in 2013. That championship marked two straight for the LeBron James and Dwayne Wade-led squad, and was part of four consecutive years that Miami made the Finals.

Wade won a championship with the Heat in 2006 as well, and Miami made the Finals in 2020 before ultimately losing to LeBron and the Lakers.

Heat Odds to Win the NBA Championship, Eastern Conference

WynnBET Sportsbook has the Heat listed at +450 to win the Eastern Conference and +1000 to win the NBA Championship.

Miami finished the season with the sixth-best net rating (4.5) in the league thanks to the fourth-best defense. They were 29-12 at home and appear poised for a run at their second Finals appearance in three years.

If they win their first round series, they'll take on the winner of the Sixers vs Raptors in the second round.

Butler, Adebayo and Tyler Herro are itching to get back to the Finals, and with Raptors hero Kyle Lowry in the fold, they have an excellent chance to do so.
