Fresh off a 26-17 thumping of their division rival Dallas Cowboys in primetime in Philadelphia, the Eagles head into their Week 7 bye with their chests puffed out as the lone remaining undefeated team in the NFL.

It's only the third time in their storied franchise history where they've been undefeated through their first six games (1981, 2004, 2022), and the previous team went to the Super Bowl with Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb 18 seasons ago. This year, quarterback Jalen Hurts has put up historic numbers and looks like a legitimate NFL MVP candidate in the process.

Following their bye week, the Eagles are expected to be favorites in every remaining game on their schedule

A few weeks back at BetSided, we took a look at the prospect of Philadelphia running the table the rest of the season. The oddsmakers still expect it to eventually fall short of a perfect 17-0 campaign, but the Eagles' win total has gone up a full game since then from 12.5 victories up to 13.5.

Philadelphia Eagles Odds to Go Undefeated, First Loss

A few weeks ago, here's where FanDuel Sportsbook set the odds for when the Eagles would lose their first game of the season for each game on their remaining schedule.

  • WEEK 8: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (+600)
  • WEEK 9: at Houston Texans (+1400)
  • WEEK 10: vs. Washington Commanders (+1400)
  • WEEK 11: at Indianapolis Colts (+1200)
  • WEEK 12: vs. Green Bay Packers (+1000)
  • WEEK 13: vs. Tennessee Titans (+1600)
  • WEEK 14: at New York Giants (+2300)
  • WEEK 15: at Chicago Bears (+3500)
  • WEEK 16: at Dallas Cowboys (+3300)
  • WEEK 17: vs. New Orleans Saints (+7000)
  • WEEK 18: vs. New York Giants (+6000)

While that bet is currently off the board, DraftKings Sportsbook offers two different undefeated season-long props for the regular season, as well as the postseason.

Currently, a team to finish the NFL regular season at 17-0 is listed at +1200. Just two weeks ago, the Eagles were +3000 to win all 17 of their regular season games!

If you expect the Birds to run it all the way to a Super Bowl championship trophy, the odds would more than double to +2500 at DK.

When Will the Eagles Lose Their First Game in 2022?

I predicted Philadelphia will fall to a trap game on the road for their first loss of the season, and I'm still leaning with their Week 11 matchup vs. Indianapolis (previously +1200 at FanDuel).

If there's one coach in the NFL that knows Nick Sirianni as well as anyone, it's his former coaching mate Frank Reich, who Sirianni was the offensive coordinator for when Reich first left Philadelphia for Indianapolis. The two remain very close friends.

The matchup for the Colts also sets up well. The Eagles, despite all of their successes, have not been a good second half team this season. While one could argue that they play more conservative in the second half after being up big in the first, it's still concerning to see the Eagles rank 31st in the NFL in second half points per game.

It also doesn't bode well that the Colts have been the best fourth quarter defense in the NFL this season, allowing their first points through six weeks with a touchdown to Jacksonville at home.

Philadelphia will be heavily favored, even on the road, but that may be an ideal time to pounce coming off a divisional matchup at home vs. Washington, and potentially looking ahead to a home game vs. Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
