One of the most exciting aspects of betting on the Super Bowl is the endless props available for teams,  players, and even people not involved in the game at all.

With so many angles to tackle, it is hard for bookmakers to set the “right” odds for every single little thing. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to take a look at a pair of prop bets that could be considered traps. The trap is that the odds are in favor of the wrong side. At least the way I look at it. So, without any further ado, let's take a look at two such player props from WynnBET Sportsbook.

Kicker With Most Points | Matt Gay -125 / Evan McPherson -105

The lead-up to this Super Bowl has had more talk about the kicker than any title game I can remember. One name, in particular, keeps coming up. The Bengals’ Evan McPherson. A lot of the hype surrounding him has to do with the fact that he has made 12 straight field goals in the playoffs.

Two of those were game-winners. Let’s not forget that he is a rookie as well. Already he holds the Bengals franchise record for the longest field goal at 58 yards and is currently 12-for-14 on kicks of 50 yards or more. Gay is 4-for-6 from deep this year. McPherson has made four field goals in three straight games and I think could be in for another busy day this weekend.

Race to 5 | Rams -140 / Bengals +110

A lot of this comes down to who gets the first possession of the game, as both teams are good at scoring early. While it makes sense that the Rams are favored in this prop, I don’t think the odds line up and present a huge value on the Bengals.

First of all, the Bengals ranked 14th in the NFL in points. And while that is not great, it is important to note that the Rams rank 16th. Additionally, in the playoffs, the Bengals have upped their scoring from 4.3 points per game in the first quarter to 6.3. They only managed a field goal in the first quarter during their last game but the Rams were shut out.

This feels like a great spot to grab some underdog odds on the Bengals.
