Wild Wagering Trends for NFL Week 14: Tom Brady Owns the Buffalo Bills
By Matt De Saro
Each and every week there are games that just stand out above others on the betting board.
Whether it comes down to the matchups or highly unusual odds, not all games are created equal.
With that in mind, let's take a look at a trio of games with betting stats that stand out heading into Week 14.
Here are three wild betting trends for Week 14. All odds are provided by WynnBET Sportsbook.
Bills vs Buccaneers -3 | Over/Under 53
Tom Brady is 32-3 straight-up (SU) against the Buffalo Bills
Tom Brady has owned many teams through his legendary NFL career, but none as much as the Buffalo Bills. During his years in New England, the Bills were typically quite bad and Brady had the pleasure of playing against them twice a year. From a betting standpoint, Brady-led teams are 22-12-1 ATS in 35 games against the Bills.
The Bucs have a number of things going for them in this important game. They have yet to lose a game at home this season and are undefeated when playing against AFC teams. A win would give them a chance to clinch the division this weekend; something Brady won’t let slip through his fingers.
Steelers vs Vikings -3.5 | Over/Under 50
The Vikings are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite.
I’ve written a lot about the Vikings already this week but what is one more stat to really drive my point home. This is a team that is circling the drain after losing to the worst team the NFL has seen in years, the Detroit Lions. Things weren't going too well before this either, as the Vikings kept finding ways to lose at the last second all season.
For whatever reason, the Vikings have played just one game all year that wasn’t decided by a single score. So, it makes sense that they would fail to cover games as a favorite when they play all their matchups so close.
Bears vs Packers -12.5 | Over/Under 43.5
The Packers are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games
At 12.5 points, the Bears vs Packers game is the highest spread on the board in Week 14.
Green Bay is coming off a bye after beating the Rams in Week 12 36-28. So, one of the best teams in the NFL is well-rested and has the momentum going against one of the worst. Meanwhile, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sports a 21-5 record straight-up against Chicago.
The Bears lost a brutal game to the Cardinals in Week 13 after Andy Dalton was picked off four times and on each of his first two drives. That really set the tone for the game as the Bears underperformed once again. It will be a hard hole to dig out of if they hope to cover against Rodgers and the Packers here.
