The Yankees and Blue Jays meet up in Toronto as the top two teams in the AL East.

Toronto has kept things rolling since their 8-game winning streak at the end of May and have begun to separate themselves from the likes of Tampa Bay and Boston in the division.

Yet, no team has been able to match the success of the first place Yankees who are coming off of a series win against the Rays.

New York will go with Jordan Montgomery on the mound, while Toronto rolls with Ross Stripling.

Yankees vs. Blue Jays Prediction and Pick

The Yankees have been the best offense in the majors in just about every stat, but their 119 WRC+ paces the field. They lead the league in home runs and are fourth in OBP. Toronto is not far behind, third in WRC+ with 114 and ranking above the Yankees in OBP. These two high powered offenses will play at the Rogers Centre which ranks as the sixth best hitters park by park factor runs scored rate.

Ross Stripling has been impressive statistically this year with a 3.14 ERA, but has not gone longer than 6 innings and he has only gone into the sixth one time. Last time against the Yankees, he gave up two runs over four innings.

Montgomery has also been effective, but in a more traditional starter role, with a 2.70 ERA over twelve starts. The bad news for Montgomery is that the Blue Jays have a massive OPS of .825 against left-handed pitching.

To me, this screams that runs will be scored. Let’s get in the OVER action, so we can enjoy the fireworks show.

Pick: Over 9.5 (-105)
