Tuesdays and Wednesdays stink. They’re the only two days during the season (until MACtion starts) where we don’t have any football to watch.

Luckily for us, those days are behind us and Week 3 of the NFL is set to kick-off tonight when the Houston Texans host the Carolina Panthers.

It might not be the sexiest matchup of all time, but if you place a couple of bets on it, it has the potential to be just as exciting as any other NFL game. That’s what makes sports betting so great. It makes the games that much more enjoyable to watch.

I’ve done four of these player prop pieces since the start of the football season, and I’ve gone 2-1 in every single one. Which two of these will hit tonight? I guess we’ll find out.

Here are my top three player props for Panthers vs Texans. All odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Sam Darnold Under 34.5 Passing Attempts -125

Sam Darnold enters tonight’s game averaging 36.5 passing attempts through his first two games of the season. While that number is higher than the given total for tonight, you have to think the Panthers will opt to run the ball a little bit more against the Texans.

With the Panthers being an 8-point favorite, they won’t be slinging the ball late in the game if they find themselves with a big lead. While 36.5 passing attempts per game seems high, only 55.88% of their called plays this season have been pass plays which is 23rd in the NFL.

If you don’t mind the -125 juice, I love the under on this player prop bet.

DJ Moore Over 5.5 Receptions -115

I’m going to stay away from any Christian McCaffrey and Robby Anderson props, if you want those, check out Peter Dewey and Donnavan Smoot’s articles.

Instead, I’m going to take the over on DJ Moore’s reception total of 5.5. He saw eight targets in Week 1 and 11 targets in Week 2, grabbing a total of 14 receptions heading into tonight’s game. He has become the top target for Sam Darnold and the Panthers, and I think he’ll hit over 5.5 receptions again against the Texans.

Mark Ingram to Score a TD +150

Ingram has emerged as the top rusher in the Texans backfield, and with rookie quarterback Davis Mills starting under center, expect his workload to increase tonight.

He’s rushed 40 times through the first two games, including a touchdown in Week 1 against the Jaguars.

There’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll get carries if/when the Texans get down to the goalline. He’s my favorite touchdown bet of the night.
