5 NFL Teams That Will Benefit From This Wild Week 3 Trend

Through the first two weeks of the NFL season, there are five teams that have not covered the spread in either of their matchups.

Some aren’t surprising , like the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Kansas City Chiefs’ against the spread struggles certainly weren’t predicted heading into this season.

The Washington Football Team is the final team that has failed to cover the spread in both games this season, but all of these teams could be in line to cover in Week 3. A betting trend shows that 0-2 teams ATS generally have success in Week 3, and that could make one, or all, of these teams a good bet this Sunday.

Out of these five teams, one matchup, the New York Jets at the Denver Broncos, stands out as a spot where an 0-2 team against the spread can cover.

New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos Prediction

The Broncos have gotten off to a great start this season, but they are major favorites at WynnBET in their home opener against the Jets. Denver is a 10.5-point favorite, and even though Zach Wilson and the Jets looked horrible in Week 2 I think that number is a bit high.

Denver kind of coasted after getting out to a big lead against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, and I think the Jets’ defense is a lot better than it is getting credit for. Wilson threw four picks in Week 2, and yet New York only gave up 25 points.

The Broncos have a chance to get to 3-0 on the season in their home opener, but this game feels like a trap, which our own Iain MacMillan pointed out on Wednesday. Give me the Jets to cover.

Which Team Won’t Cover in Week 3?

If I had to choose one of these five teams not to cover in Week 3, it would be the Kansas City Chiefs.

I know, I know, the Chiefs are one of the better teams in the NFL, but they have been terrible against the spread for some time now (1-11-1 in their last 13 games). Kansas City is nearly a touchdown favorite against the Los Angeles Chargers, and even at home I think that may be too much.

The Chargers need this game as much as the Chiefs ater a 1-1 start, and both of Los Angeles' games have been decided by four points or less this season. The Chiefs couldn’t pull away from either the Baltimore Ravens or Cleveland Browns, and their league-worst defense makes me think that the Charger at a minimum keep this close.

Think one of these teams is due to cover the spread? Make your pick at WynnBET.
