When it comes to sports betting, the public normally has a different viewpoint than the sharps.

Sometimes the public knows best, but the sharps are the ones that can really move a line one way or another.

BetSided spoke with WynnBET trader Sawyer Johnson to see how the sharps are looking at this week’s slate of NFL games.

Where does the public differentiate from the sharps this week?

“The public was on the Cardinals, and pushed the line from -4.5 to -6, but the sharps brought that back down to -5.5. The 49ers are still very good and rookie quarterback Trey Lance’s ceiling is off the charts,” Johnson told BetSided.

“The public also liked the Cowboys against the Giants, but the sharps loved the Giants in this position. It opened Dallas -7.5 and has been bet down to -7. We’ll see if it breaks the key number, or if it sticks where it is. The Giants could very easily be 3-1 had they defeated Washington and Atlanta. If they are 3-1 right now, this number would be much lower than 7. My numbers have it as Dallas -5.”

The Cardinals are a heavy favorite with the public and our own Ben Heisler doesn’t buy the hype. He’s on the 49ers’ side this week and even wrote about how the Cardinals still need to prove they are a serious contender this week.

On the Cowboys’ side, uncertainty is also an issue. Dallas trounced the Carolina Panthers, but they weren’t considered an elite team either. The only solid win the Cowboys have is against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Nevertheless, Dallas is 3-1 and facing a desperate Giants team with a good opportunity to get a second divisional win.

Dallas is 4-0 against the spread this season and the Cardinals are 3-1, so maybe staying on their side could pay off again this week.
