No. 22 Auburn received a scare last Saturday at home, needing a fourth down heave to hold off an embarrassing loss to Georgia State.

Now, the Tigers shake it off and head to Death Valley to face LSU. A familiar face may be taking snaps under center after former LSU quarterback T.J. Finley came in for Bo Nix in the second half and led the comeback. Head coach Bryan Harsin said this week he hasn't decided who will start this Saturday.

How should we handicap this primetime SEC showdown?

Auburn vs. LSU Odds

Spread:

Auburn: +3.5 (-110)

LSU: -3.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

Auburn: +150

LSU: -180

Total: 54.5 (Over -115/Under -110)

I’m not buying this LSU team at all, partly why I faded them in the underdog round robin last week, and they were lucky to get by Mississippi State on the road. LSU was outgained by MSU by more than 140 yards in that one, and used three three touchdowns of 64, 58, and 41 yards to hang on.

While Auburn doesn’t give me a ton of confidence with questions at quarterback, I do trust their defense to limit explosive plays and get their running game going.

Tank Bigsby lives up to his name as a forceful runner and should find success against an LSU defensive front that has struggled against good rushing attacks, a la UCLA in Week 1, who had 210 yards on 47 carries.

LSU has thrived on getting pressure this season, racking up 42 tackles for loss in four games this season, but in Auburn’s toughest test this season, at Penn State, the team only allowed three TFL.

If AU can keep their quarterback upright they can attack an LSU secondary that may be without future first round pick, cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. for the second straight game.

While it’s always tough to fade LSU in Death Valley, I’m taking this at above a field goal as I see Auburn as the more complete team, I personally have this as LSU -1.5.

Pick: Auburn +3.5
