Bears Fans Should be Pissed About Predicted Win Total

I feel for Chicago Bears fans. I really do.

They had to watch Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson, first round picks, lead their teams on Sunday while Andy Dalton led Chicago straight into embarrassment on Sunday night.

Chicago lost 34-14 on Sunday night, leaving fans wondering when Justin Fields would make his inevitable first start. Yet Matt Nagy is sticking with Dalton, so the oddsmakers adjusted their lines accordingly.

Before the season started, WynnBET had Chicago’s win total line at 7.5, with a -110 pick’em on both sides. After seeing what the Bears will look like this season, Vegas moved the line down to 6.5, with the under (-150) heavily favoring the over (+130).

David Montgomery was the lone bright spot in Chicago's Week 1 loss, rushing for 108 yards on the best defense in the league. He ran with purpose and looked like the star back he was last season.

Bears fans should be extremely upset, even after one game. Their quarterback situation is going to drive them into the ground instead of leading them into the playoffs.

I was a preseason believer in the Bears, but I’m feeling really stupid right now. I will say that my belief was centered around Justin Fields starting, but I digress. The Bears don’t look like a good team right now.

The -150 juice is a little high, but I would consider taking it with the way Chicago looked after Week 1. The Bears play the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 and that will be the ultimate litmus test.

If the Bears start 0-2, one of two things need to happen. Either Fields needs to start, or the season needs to be chalked up as a lost one. Either way, we’ll figure out what the Bears are made of soon.
