My favorite show on television is Better Call Saul. A huge theme in the series is that small, seemingly inconsequential decisions can have a huge impact on your future.

I'm not saying that throwing a few dollars on today's MLB parlay will result in you driving a Lamborghini into your mansion, but I'm not not saying that either.

We've got a light 10-game MLB slate today, but I'm confident in the value on the board, especially after reading the BetSided team's previews for each matchup.

Let's jump into it. Here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day, using odds from WynnBET:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Mets -1.5 (-145) vs Nationals

I'm in agreement with Josh Yourish here. It's Patrick Corbin day, so we're fading the ever-loving daylights out of the Washington Nationals. It doesn't hurt that we get Max Scherzer on the mound for the New York Mets, either.

Corbin is my favorite pitcher in all of MLB to fade. Over his last four starts (all losses), Corbin has an 11.11 ERA. The Nationals are 4-17 in his starts this year with 14 losses coming on the run line, and his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile is an unmitigated disaster:

Yikes. Scherzer, meanwhile, compiled a 1.39 ERA in July and the Mets are 22-4 in his last 26 starts dating back to last season. I'll happily take -145 odds on one of MLB's best teams and pitchers smacking around one of MLB's worst teams and pitchers.

Guardians (-150) vs Diamondbacks

You already know how much I love the Cleveland Guardians, as they sit just one game behind Minnesota for the AL Central lead and send Stanford grad Cal Quantrill to the mound, who is 5-0 with a 3.19 ERA at home. With an opportunity to tie for the division lead, I expect Cleveland's best effort today.

The Guardians are 14-3 in their last 17 games as home favorites and ranked ninth in OPS against right-handed pitchers in July. Arizona, meanwhile, is 1-7 in its last eight as a road underdog, averaging a pathetic two runs per game in that stretch.

Despite solid underlying metrics overall, Zach Davies has a 4.26 ERA on the road and the Diamondbacks are 1-5 in his last six starts.

Cleveland gets it done in a huge spot at home.

Tigers (+104) vs Twins

I love the value on Detroit today with Tarik Skubal taking on Devin Smeltzer. Skubal hasn't allowed an earned run in either of his last two starts and ranks second in MLB in the number of outings in which he's surrendered zero earned runs.

This Twins team can't be trusted, losing four of six as home favorites, and Smeltzer is far from impressive.

Smeltzer has a 5.50 FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) and posted an 8.76 ERA in July. To nearly everyone's surprise, Detroit is mashing left-handed pitchers too, ranking seventh in OPS last month.

At these odds, I'll happily back the Tigers to pick up a road win and help give the Guardians a tie atop the AL Central.

Giants (+128) vs Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers are fantastic, yes, but Logan Webb is the most dominant home pitcher in MLB. Dating back to 2020, the San Francisco Giants are 22-2 in Webb's last 24 starts at AT&T Park. He's got a 1.45 ERA over his last five home outings and with trade rumors swirling, this could be our last chance to cash in on this incredible trend.

Andrew Heaney looks great for the Dodgers, but he's been unimpressive in his career and hasn't yet faced a lineup that hits left-handed pitchers well.

San Francisco does exactly that, ranking third in OPS against southpaws in July. The Giants have won five straight as home underdogs, including three straight over these Dodgers in June.

At +128, we're getting tremendous value on something that nearly always happens: Logan Webb winning at home.

MLB Parlay for August 1, 2022

The "Better Cash, Saul" Parlay (+1209)

  • Mets -1.5 (-145) vs Nationals
  • Guardians (-150) vs Diamondbacks
  • Tigers (+104) vs Twins
  • Giants (+128) vs Dodgers

Ah, yes. This is a gorgeous four-teamer that feels destined to bring us a Lamborghini and mansion. Odds of +1209 give us $302.45 on a $25 bet and I love the value we're getting in each matchup.

This BETter cash, Saul. Be sure to check out the BetSided previews as you make your parlay at WynnBET, but I'm ready for a winner either way.

Best of luck - let's get after it!
