Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (Nationals, White Sox, & Yankees With Massive Pitching Advantages)
By Joe Summers
My dog, Kemba, is currently napping on a comfy blanket between my legs as I type, curled up in the sweetest way with his paws overlapping each other.
It's absolutely adorable, and tells me I need to go buy a bunch more comfy blankets. Luckily for us, today's MLB slate oozes with value and my pockets will be deeper once I'm through with this parlay.
There's a ton of matchups I want to target, so let's not waste any time. Kemba needs a new blanket, after all.
Using odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:
Best MLB Parlay Picks Today
Nationals (+175) vs Phillies
This may come as a surprise, but Washington Nationals' second-year starter Josiah Gray is one of MLB's premier pitchers on the road. He's 5-0 with a 2.45 ERA away from home this year and hasn't allowed more than three runs in a single one of those starts.
If you'd bet $100 on the Nationals' moneyline in every Gray road start this year, you'd be up $955. He allowed just one hit while striking out 11 batters in six shutout innings against the Phillies last month, and he's improved his fastball over the last month to give all three of his pitches (fastball, slider, and curveball) a whiff rate over 30% in that span.
Philadelphia lost three of its last four as home favorites and start Kyle Gibson, who is getting hammered at home. In his last three outings at Citizens Bank Park, Gibson has an 8.94 ERA while allowing six home runs.
Gray gives Washington a significant advantage and I'm thrilled to back him at such huge odds.
White Sox (-175) vs Rangers
I hope you nabbed the best Cy Young value remaining last week at +800, because Dylan Cease is down to +500 to nab the AL award and shows no signs of slowing up.
Cease allowed one run or fewer in each of his last 12 starts, compiling a 0.64 ERA in that span. He's the most dominant pitcher in baseball right now by a wide margin, and should continue his dominance against a Texas Rangers lineup that's averaging just 2.8 runs per game in its last 10 matchups as home underdogs.
Rangers' starter Glenn Otto has a 6.71 ERA in his last eight starts and his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile paints a horrifying picture:
Chicago ranks third in OPS against right-handed pitchers over the last three weeks and will have no problem giving Cease the run support he needs. Apparently, that might only be a single run.
Trust the White Sox to win an eighth straight behind Cease and improve to 15-2 in his last 17 starts.
Yankees (-148) vs Cardinals
As excited as I am to back Gray and Cease, I'm equally excited to fade St. Louis Cardinals' starter Dakota Hudson, who remains one of MLB's worst pitchers supported by a ridiculous run of luck.
Hudson has a 5.99 ERA over his last eight starts and the Cardinals lost six of those outings. Seriously, look at this poor sap's MLB Statcast Pitching Profile:
Now, tell me you can't imagine this happening over and over and over again:
The Yankees' are 11-3 in Nestor Cortes' last 14 starts and he's allowed just three runs total in his last three.
Cortes is good. Hudson is not. Sometimes, it's that simple.
MLB Parlay for August 5, 2022
The "Kemba Needs Blankies" Parlay (+624)
- Nationals (+175) vs Phillies
- White Sox (-175) vs Rangers
- Yankees (-148) vs Cardinals
Kemba is now fully asleep and having precious puppy dreams, so I couldn't be more excited to cash this bad boy and go shopping for the comfiest blankets I can find.
I love the value on each of these matchups, as we clearly have a massive pitching edge in each. WynnBET won't know what hit 'em.
Best of luck - let's get after it!
