Best MLB Prop Bets Record to Date

  • MLB Best Prop Bets Record: 2-3-0

Here are the plays our team is eyeing for tonight’s slate.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today

  • Alex Wood OVER 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-130)
  • Alek Manoah OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-125)
  • Alek Manoah UNDER 2.5 Runs (-160)

Alex Wood OVER 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-130)

Alex Wood was excellent a season ago for the San Francisco Giants going 10-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 26 starts. But he's still not blowing hitters away with a fastball that occasionally touches 90 mph or better.

Despite the San Diego Padres waiting on Fernando Tatis Jr. to return, they still feature a formidable lineup that has scored  20 runs in the four games they've played so far.

More importantly, in the early going, San Diego appears to have made a concerted effort to limit its strikeouts; punching out less than 20% of the time. The Padres’ 19.9 strikeout percentage ranks sixth-best in the Majors.

I like what I've seen early on to think the Friars can get at least a couple off Wood before he departs -- Ben Heisler

Alek Manoah OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-125)

Alek Manoah will face a vaunted New York Yankees lineup on Monday, but I think he is a great bet to go over his strikeout prop after how New York started the season against an inferior pitching staff in the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees averaged 9.67 strikeouts per game through their first three games and Josh Donaldson and Giancarlo Stanton both had 3-plus strikeout games alone.

With the likes of Joey Gallo, Aaron Hicks and other all-or-nothing hitters, I think Manoah builds on his strong 2021 campaign when he struck out 127 batters in just 111.2 innings. – Peter Dewey

Manoah was impressive in his rookie season with the Blue Jays, averaging more than 10 strikeouts last season across 111.2 innings pitched, and I like him to make a statement on the road against the Yankees.

He faced NYY twice last season, striking out 7 and 4 and the Yanks are a free swinging bunch, sixth highest K rate last season. On a short slate, Manoah stands out as someone in line to go over his K total. -- Reed Wallach

Alek Manoah UNDER 2.5 Runs (-160)

Alex Manoah had an ultra-impressive rookie season, throwing for an ERA of 3.22. All signs seem to point to him taking another step forward this season after allowing only one earned run in 14 innings in spring training.

Meanwhile, the Yankees bats have been average through their first few games this season, so I expect a strong debut by Manoah tonight. – Iain MacMillan
