Was there a sale on brooms yesterday? Because we nailed a sweep on No Run First Inning (NRFI) and Yes Run First Inning (YRFI) bets!

Let's stay hot with today's light 12-game MLB slate. We may have fewer games in store, but that doesn't mean we have less value on the board. There's several pitching matchups that caught my eye, and there's poor weather popping up to be aware of as well.

I won't waste any more time, there's money to make after all! Using odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, here are my favorite NRFI/YRFI bets of the day:

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today

Braves vs Phillies NRFI (-115)

Braves' lefty Max Fried is becoming a NRFI savant. He's thrown nine consecutive scoreless first innings and has a sparkling 2.64 ERA on the season. Thanks to excellent command and a devastating arsenal of pitches, the guy has been superb across the board.

The Phillies rank 26th in OPS against left-handed pitchers over the last three weeks, so I don't expect them to get off to a fast start. But I don't expect Atlanta to get off to a hot start either, as they're just 18th in OPS against lefties in that time frame and score in the first inning less than 28% of the time.

Ranger Suarez is coming off five shutout innings against Miami and has gone four straight starts without surrendering a first inning run. Roll with the NRFI here at fantastic odds with two pitchers we can trust on the mound.

Padres vs Tigers YRFI (-105)

I like the YRFI for the same reason I like the over in the game: neither pitcher can be trusted. Sean Manaea has a 5.17 ERA this month and the Tigers rank 14th in OPS against left-handed pitchers over the last three weeks, so their lineup is improving.

But the larger YRFI advantage lies with Drew Hutchison, who has been abjectly terrible by any measure. He has a 7.20 ERA in the first inning, allowing four runs in five starts. Just look at his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile and tell me you're afraid of him:

If you are afraid, you shouldn't be. We've got favorable weather conditions in store as well, making this YRFI a great value at nearly even money.

Angels vs Royals NRFI (-125)

This is a sneaky great pitching matchup with Noah Syndergaard taking on Zack Greinke, and I think both pitchers will find success tonight. Syndergaard hasn't allowed a first inning run in each of his last two road starts and the Royals score in the opening frame in only 26.52% of their home games.

Bad weather is in store, and I'm not sure the game will even be played. But if it is played, then the weather will make it difficult to put much power behind the ball. That benefits both Syndergaard and Greinke, who has allowed just two total runs in his last three home starts. Greinke has a 1.86 ERA at Kaufman Stadium, and I'm happy to fade the Angels' lineup after it scored nine runs yesterday.

Take the NRFI to finish off our trio of wagers today. Fingers crossed those brooms are still on sale.
