The top 70 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings will tee-off at Wilmington Country Club on Thursday morning with an opportunity to advance to the Tour Championship on the line.

I've already given you my course breakdown and best bets in my betting preview, as well as on this week's episode of Green on the Greens, but now it's time to focus on some 2-ball bets for the opening round.

Usually I'd be giving out 3-ball bets for the opening round, but since there are only 70 golfers in the field, they're being put out in twosomes instead of threesomes. Thus, we have 2-ball odds instead of 3-ball odds.

Here are my best 2-ball bets for the opening round of the BMW Championship. All odds listed are via DraftKings Sportsbook.

BMW Championship Round 1 2-Ball Bets

  • Trey Mullinax +100 vs. Mito Pereira
  • Corey Conners -145 vs. Kevin Kisner
  • Will Zalatoris -110 vs. Scottie Scheffler

Trey Mullinax +100 vs. Mito Pereira

I gave out Trey Mullinax as a dark horse in my longshot article this week, and for good reason. We haven't seen Wilmington Country Club in action before, but the word is that long hitters will have a significant advantage. That's where Trey Mullinax comes in. He ranks ninth on the PGA Tour in driving distance, and he enters the event in good form. After winning the Barbasol Championship a few weeks ago, he has finished T21, T37, and then T5 last week.

Meanwhile, Mito Pereira has been stumbling. He missed four-straight cuts, and then finished T42 last week. I love Mullinax in tis matchup at +100.

Corey Conners -145 vs. Kevin Kisner

As I just mentioned, driving distance will be a key for success this week. That means you should stay far away from Kevin Kisner. He ranks 175th in driving distance, and has been on record saying he knows he has no chance to win at long courses.

Corey Conners, on the other hand, ranks fourth in strokes gained: off-the-tee, and third in greens in regulation. He should be a perfect match for this week's track.

Will Zalatoris -110 vs. Scottie Scheffler

This bet has to be the biggest no-brainer of the day. Will Zalatoris is coming off his first win on the PGA Tour, and a course that's long and difficult, sounds like a great fit for him.

Meanwhile, there's Scottie Scheffler, who has seemingly completely lost his game. His putting ability has fallen off a cliff since winning the Masters, and has uncharacteristically animated last week when things weren't going his way.

This is a prime example of two golfers' games trending in the complete opposite direction, and I'm here to take advantage of it.
