Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has rushed for over 100 yards in back-to-back weeks, but his breakout has come with Darrel Williams seeing more touches in the offense.

Go figure.

Edwards-Helaire struggled in Weeks 1 and 2, and he lost fumbles in back-to-back games before a clean Week 4.

Both running backs have seen their touches increase over the past two weeks, but is it something that Andy Reid will continue to deploy in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills? WynnBET Sportsbook has the total in the Sunday Night Football showdown set at 56.5, which means there is going to be plenty of offense.

Williams and Edwards-Helaire may cancel out each other having a monster game, they could be worth betting on when it comes to player props. Let’s take a look at their totals and odds:

Darrel Williams vs. Clyde Edwards-Helaire Stat Comparison

Total Opportunities (Carries and Targets)

  • Edwards-Helaire: 66
  • Williams: 26

Rushing Yards

  • Edwards-Helaire: 291 (5.0 yards per carry)
  • Williams: 72 (3.4 yards per carry)

Receiving Yards

  • Edwards-Helaire: 50
  • Williams: 27

Touchdowns

  • Edwards-Helaire: 2
  • Williams: 2

Edwards-Helaire is the bellcow in terms of touches, but it is worth noting that Williams has seen 22 of his 26 opportunities this season over the past two games.

It would be nice for bettors and fantasy players to see Edwards-Helaire as a bigger threat in the passing game, but he has caught a touchdown in consecutive weeks, despite seeing three or less targets in each game this season.

If Williams’ prop numbers are set around 20-25 total yards for Week 5, he’s certainly worth a shot after racking up 97 total yards the past two weeks. The Chiefs are going to have to put up a ton of points to compete with the Bills, so this should be a great spot for both backs.
