College Football Week 11 Upset Picks: Ole Miss, North Carolina Lead This Week's Predictions
Who’s poised to pull off an upset in Week 11 of the college football season?
The BetSided team went 4-1 on upset picks last week, moving our record to 25-19 on the year, and we’re looking to stay hot in this week's slate.
Here are our best upset picks in college football with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:
UNLV (+130) Upsets Hawaii
UNLV got its first win of the season last week against New Mexico and I’m trusting them to start a winning streak for my upset pick. UNLV isn’t highly ranked in a lot of categories, but the Rebels are 21st in the nation in red zone scoring percentage and are top 50 in that same category on defense.
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Warriors are 97th in the country in opponent red zone scoring percentage and their defensive ranks aren’t outstanding either. If UNLV can move the ball down the field, which could happen against a Hawaii team that allows over 430 yards per game, I think they can pull this off. -- Donnavan Smoot
Ole Miss (+110) Upsets Texas A&M
The Ole Miss Rebels will host the Texas A&M Aggies in Week 11, and I think that Matt Corral and company are getting a little disrespected at home in this game.
Yes, Texas A&M is allowing the second-fewest points per game in the nation this season, but Matt Corral may be the best quarterback that this team faces. Bryce Young and Alabama hung 38 points on the Aggies (albeit in a loss) earlier this season, so I’m going to back Lane Kiffin’s high-powered offense in this matchup.
Texas A&M’s offense has been average (41st in yards per play) without quarterback Haynes King, and I think Corral gets a signature win for the Rebels at home this week. -- Peter Dewey
The Rebels are 2.5-point dogs at home against an Aggies squad that appears to be hitting their stride since their upset victory at home over No. 1 Alabama four weeks ago. In their previous three games, they’ve dominated Mizzou, South Carolina and Auburn.
But even with Ole Miss falling to Alabama and Auburn on the road, this is still a very talented team that’s come out and made big plays at home this season. They’re undefeated at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and are 3-1-1 against the spread at home.
Most importantly, this is Matt Corral’s last big game in front of their home fans before Senior Day next week vs. Vanderbilt and the Egg Bowl vs. Mississippi State after that. The likely Heisman finalist needs another signature moment and I believe he gets it late in this matchup.
This line should be closer to a pick ‘em, but the public is very high on the Aggies since the ‘Bama game, and they’re not jumping ship now. -- Ben Heisler
North Carolina (+195) Upsets Pittsburgh
The way to beat UNC is by running the football. The Tar Heels run defense is among the worst in the country, ranking 97th among all teams allowing 4.7 yards per carry. Meanwhile their secondary, while not fantasy, is much better at stopping the past. They rank 68th in opponent yards per pass attempt.
Good news for Tar Heels fans is that Pittsburgh is a pass-first team, with 70.36% of their offensive yards gained coming through the air, which is the 20th highest mark in college football. Most of the other stats between the two teams are comparable, so if UNC can slow down Kenny Pickett and the Panthers pass attack, they have a solid chance of winning this game. -- Iain MacMillan
NC State (+120) Upset Wake Forest
I've been high on the Pack all year and I'm honestly upset that Wake Forest went down last week to fellow North Carolina school UNC to take some value off this number. This will be the toughest defense Wake has faced all season, NC State is top five in defensive success rate and has the offense to establish the run against a poor Wake defense that has been gashed by any half decent offense.
I make NC State a favorite in this one, and I think they take control of the ACC Atlantic on Saturday. -- Reed Wallach
