Europeans have historically fared well at Major Championships in recent years. Jon Rahm of Spain took him the US Open in 2021, and his fellow countryman, Sergio Garcia, was the last European to win the Masters when he did it back in 2017.

Are there any Europeans who can win the Green Jacket in 2022?

Here are five I think you should target at Augusta National this year. All odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Europeans To Bet On to Win the 2022 Masters

Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) +2000

I'm staying away from Jon Rahm, who is the betting favorite to win this year, and I'm going to go straight to Rory McIlroy. McIlroy's odds to win the Masters are the longest they've been since 2011, which means this might actually be the year he gets it done. He seems to perform at his best when nobody expects him to win and when the spotlight is elsewhere.

What better year for that than 2022, when all the media and attention is on Tiger making his return. McIlroy is a sneaky play at 20/1 to finally complete his career grand slam.

Viktor Hovland (Norway) +2500

Viktor Hovland already became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour, and now he has the chance to become the first to win a Major. He's one of the best ball strikers on Tour, ranking 11th in strokes gained: off-the-tee and third in strokes gained: approach the green, but his chipping leaves a lot to be desired, ranking 209th in strokes gained: around-the-green. If he can dial that part of his game, he'll be in contention on the weekend.

Matt Fitzpatrick (England) +4000

I've been ranting about Matt Fitzpatrick all week, and sports bettors have responded. His odds have moved from +5000 to +4000 since I originally wrote my Masters betting preview, and even at his new price, he holds a ton of value. He leads the entire Tour in total strokes gained heading into the Masters, and he ranks in the top 10 in basically every key stat that's important this week.

Tyrrell Hatton (England) +5000

You want to bet on the best putter on Tour at Augusta this week? Then bet on Tyrrell Hatton. He enters the week ranking first among all golfers in strokes gained: putting, and he finished a solid 18th here last year, so I expect a further improvement in 2022.

If he can find consistency with his driver this week, Hatton will prove to be a great dark horse bet.

Robert MacIntyre (Scotland) +25000

I'm going to skip a number of European golfers on the odds list, and go all the way down to Robert MacIntyre, aka Bobby Mac at +25000 as a longshot European. A big advantage he has at Augusta is that he's a lefty, and the course has favored lefties throughout the years.

He also finished T12 here last year, so he's had past success at Augusta. If you don't want to bet on him to win, you can still get him at +325 to finish in the top 20.
