Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies have taken the Western Conference by storm this season, as Memphis is the No. 3 seed in the West and has won 12 of its last 13 games.

Morant, who missed 12 games earlier in the season due to injury, has been on fire since he returned to the lineup. The third-year guard is averaging 24.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game over his last 14 contests, and he’s moved his season averages up to 24.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from 3.

While Morant had originally entered this season as a Most Improved Player candidate, he has shown that he is much more than that, vaulting himself into the top five in WynnBET’s latest odds to win the NBA’s MVP award.

Ja Morant Has Serious Case to Win MVP

While Morant may not have the career pedigree of Steph Curry or Giannis Antetokounmpo, he has clearly been one of the league’s most important players this season.

The Grizzlies have gone from a play-in tournament team to a serious contender in the West in just one season, and Morant has improved his 3-point shooting by over 5.0 percent from last season and his overall field goal percentage by nearly 4.0 percent.

With Kevin Durant going down to a sprained MCL in his knee, Morant now has an even better chance to win this award if the Grizzlies remain one of the top three teams in the West.

There can be an argument made for each player in the top five of the latest odds, but Ja’s impressive season is finally getting some love from the oddsmakers in Vegas after opening at +3500.
