Let's Set Odds on How Many Games Urban Meyer Will Coach in Jacksonville

Urban Meyer is the definition of a “Wild Boy.”

Meyer failed to fly back with the team after its 24-21 to the Cincinnati Bengals and then was caught on camera “enjoying the night life” of Columbus, OH. 

Jaguars owner Shad Khan released a statement regarding the manner over the weekend. 

"I have addressed this matter with Urban," Khan said in the statement. "Specifics of our conversation will be held in confidence. What I will say is his conduct last weekend was inexcusable. I appreciate Urban's remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now, he must regain our trust and respect. That will require a personal commitment from Urban to everyone who supports, represents or plays for our team. I am confident he will deliver."

With the Jaguars winless and Meyer swimming in controversy, it has to be time to let him go -- or at least think about it.

He gave Meyer +800 odds, but right now that is entirely too low. While his hypothetical odds have skyrocketed, I’m interested in the “when” part of the equation.

Let’s set the middle of the season (after Week 9) as the over/under point for Meyer’s dismissal/resignation. In that scenario, I’m taking the under. 

Meyer has clearly shown that the results of his coaching aren’t worth the antics and with a rookie quarterback, an organization that needs a culture change and a team that hasn’t won since Week 1 of last season, he can’t be the guy -- even by his standards.

Meyer is in over his head and clearly never got the memo that the NFL is much different than Ohio State. 

Shad Khan messed up once by bringing Meyer in, but he shouldn’t make another mistake by keeping him around.
