For today's slate of best bets on the diamond, we're mixing in a little bit of everything.

We'll head to Philadelphia for a short live road dog, grab a team total north of the border for the largest favorite of the night, and focus in on a player prop that has the ideal matchup to cruise past his projected strikeout total.

Let's check out the matchups, with all odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

MLB Best Bets for Monday, June 13

  • Marlins ML (+115)
  • Blue Jays Team Total OVER 5 Runs (-120)
  • Cristian Javier OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-125)

Miami Marlins ML (+115) at Phillies

Keep sleeping on the Fish, folks. Your betting picks may end up sleeping with them if you don't start to adjust.

Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara is currently second at WynnBET Sportsbook to win the National League Cy Young at +400 odds, trailing last year's winner Corbin Burnes at +350. He's been in the Big Leagues since 2017, but the dude is only 26 years old and truly starting to come into his own despite some outstanding years in Miami without much fanfare.

Since May 11, Alcantara is 4-0 with a 0.56 ERA in his last six starts, averaging an absurd eight innings per start! UNHEARD OF in the modern era of pitching.

The Phillies just came off a 10-game winning streak, highlighted by some very timely hits, including a stunner with two home runs on the road vs. Brewers closer Josh Hader. They looked out of sorts on Sunday in their loss to the Diamondbacks, and may not be ready to handle Alcantara at his best.

BetSided's Reed Wallach is also in agreement today for the Marlins as a live underdog in Philadelphia, while Joe Summers included them in one of his many legs in today's MLB Parlay picks.

Blue Jays Team Total OVER 5 Runs (-120)

Wallach and I are also in agreement on the Blue Jays tonight as they return home to Toronto to face a struggling Kyle Bradish and the Orioles tonight; coming in at nearly 1/3 favorites at -290.

Bradish has a rough ERA at 6.45, and can't seem to keep the ball in the yard with a brutal HR/9 at 2. That's going to be a difficult task in Toronto where the Rogers Center has seen the third-most home runs hit this season, trailing only two bandbox parks in Coors Field in Denver, and Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati (with two struggling pitching staffs to add).

Since the start of June, the Blue Jays rank second in weighted runs created plus (wRC+), trailing only the New York Yankees by two (165 to 163).

Guerrero Jr., for what it's worth, is my "Daily Dinger" pick of the day to go yard at +290 odds.

Cristian Javier OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-125)

I highlighted this play earlier today in our Best MLB Prop Bets plays, but love this number for Javier despite him struggling to hit it for most of the season.

His issue all year has been going late into games. But every time he's gone past 5.1 innings, he's nailed this number by a wide margin.

Javier leads tonight's slate with 11.28 strikeouts per nine innings and the Rangers rank fourth over the last week in strikeout percentage at 24.5%. There's a reason the line has moved on Javier today and I still believe 5.5 offers very good value.
