Picking a straight up upset in the NFL was much easier in Week 1 of the season, as nine games were won straight up by underdogs

In Week 2, our team delivered a 2-2 result with our picks, as the Las Vegas Raiders came through against the Pittsburgh Steelers while the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals fell just short.

However, we’re back crunching the numbers for Week 3 with our eyes on another 4-0 week like Week 1.

Here’s who our editors are taking this week with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:

New Orleans Saints (+130) at New England Patriots

If you aren’t familiar with the “Jameis Winston Experience,” this is how it goes. Winston looked fantastic in Week 1 and then looked terrible in Week 2. Winston completed 50% of his passes and had two interceptions against the Panthers, but that is not scaring me away from picking him and the Saints to beat the Patriots. WynnBET has the Saints as +130 underdogs. Although not huge underdogs, the Saints will have a chip on their shoulder to avenge last week’s loss.

Mac Jones is a solid quarterback, but he isn’t going to light it up. Last week’s win was handed to him by Zach Wilson’s myriad of interceptions, so we’ll see if Jones can outduel Winston. I would say not. Jones and the Patriots are going to have to push the ball down the field eventually and if it doesn’t happen this week, I don’t see them beating Winston in what should be another high on the season-long rollercoaster. -- Donnavan Smoot

Philadelphia Eagles (+160) at Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles offense didn't look great in Week 2 against the 49ers, but people are sleeping on this Philadelphia defense. They rank third in opponent yards per play at 4.3 through the first two weeks, behind only the Panthers and Bills who are both at 3.7.

What's even more important, is they're also third in opponent yards per pass attempt at 5.0. Their stout defense should give the high-powered Cowboys offense some trouble, and Jalen Hurts could have a strong day on the ground.

The NFC East is a crapshoot, and the Eagles could be the dark horse of that division. Give me Philadelphia to pull off the upset on Monday night. -- Iain MacMillan

Atlanta Falcons (+130) at New York Giants

The Falcons have been horrible so far this season, but they showed some promise in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before a pair of Matt Ryan pick-sixes essentially ended the game.

They’ll face a much easier team in the New York Giants in Week 3, and while it’s on the road, I like the Falcons to pick up their first win of the season.

Daniel Jones played a great game in Week 2, which by his standards means he’s due for a clunker. I’m completely out on Jones and let’s not forget that he’s 4-19 against anyone in the NFL not named the Washington Football Team.

Yikes.

Atlanta has plenty of playmakers on offense to get this done, it just can’t have Ryan put it completely out of the game with turnovers. -- Peter Dewey

Green Bay Packers (+150) at San Francisco 49ers

The Monday Night Football cover for Green Bay was easy money… eventually. Talent at the most important position still wins out more often than not even in a league cloaked in parity to the nth degree.

Is anyone going to dispute that Aaron Rodgers is not the far superior quarterback than Jimmy Garoppollo? Is anyone going to dispute that Aaron Jones is in a far more advantageous spot than whatever seventh-string running back Kyle Shanahan is likely to trot out after more injuries continue to break down that position? Is anyone going to dispute Davante Adams as the best skill player, even compared to the great George Kittle?

Sure, the Packers have had their issues on the defensive side of the ball, but they shut out the Lions in the second half. The 49ers gave up 23 to that same team in the second half as they failed to put them away and not cover the 8.5-points.

Plus, anyone who wagers over at WynnBET can grab the Packers at +10.5 odds, rather than the standard +3.5 with their “Triple the Spread” promotion this week!

The last time WynnBET offered up 3x odds on an underdog, five out of seven in Week 1 won outright, with the other two covering the spread without the help of a boost!

Much like in those Week 1 games, the underdog wins outright, as Rodgers relishes another opportunity to smile at his haters in his later northern California homecoming. -- Ben Heisler
