O.J. Howard is back from a torn Achilles that he suffered in Week 4 of the 2020 season, and he could be a sneaky weapon for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady this season.

Brady, who obviously has a major rapport with tight end Rob Gronkowski, praised Howard in his recovery and expects him to have a big season for the Bucs in 2021.

“O.J.’s worked really hard to put himself in the position he’s in,” Brady said Tuesday. “I think he’s prepared to have a great season. He’s worked really hard through training camp, been available to the team. Very hard worker, doing all the right things. So, really happy to have him back out there.”

WynnBET has player props for Howard in the Bucs’ Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, and his receiving yards prop is an absolute steal. Howard is set at 18.5 receiving yards with the over (-115) actually as the underdog to the under (-116).

There’s a lot of mouths to feed in Tampa with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown all in the receiving group, but the Bucs throw the ball a ton (Brady attempted 38.1 passes per game last season), and Howard had a strong role in the offense last season before getting hurt.

In his four games in 2020, Howard saw 19 targets, making 11 catches for 146 yards and two scores. He went over 36 yards in every game but one, and was actually picking up some momentum with three catches for 49 yards in Week 3 and three more for 50 yards and a score in Week 4.

Asking Howard to go over 18.5 yards may only require one catch, and he’s averaged 15.3 yards per reception in his career.

Brady is going to spread the ball around like he always has, and the Cowboys’ porous defense should allow everyone on Tampa Bay to eat in Week 1. I’ll take the over on Howard’s prop after Brady publicly praised his young tight end.
