It may be time to put some respect on the Raiders’ name.

Las Vegas is 2-0 after going on the road and upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Raiders won without Josh Jacobs and are tied at the top of the AFC West with the Denver Broncos. Despite being undefeated, the Raiders are being disrespected in the odds.

WynnBET still has the Raiders with the worst odds to win the division at +1000. Even if the Raiders’ success is short lived, they still deserve some credit in the market.

The Broncos, who are also 2-0, have the second shortest odds at +450. This is really where the disrespect lies. The Broncos have two wins over bad teams and haven’t proven they can compete with even the average teams in the league, yet they are second to the Chiefs.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about the Raiders so far, it’s that Derek Carr is legit. He has thrown for over 800 yards, 4 touchdowns and is completing over 66% of his passes. Carr should be in the conversation for MVP already and could lead the Raiders to the playoffs with this level of play.

The biggest question mark for Las Vegas coming into this season was its defense. If the D was even slightly below average as opposed to being at the bottom of the league, the Raiders would have the potential to have a successful season. Last Sunday against Pittsburgh showed they are on the right track and will at the very least not force the offense to play in shootouts every week.

Las Vegas may ultimately not win the division, but we need to stop treating the Raiders like they are the worst in the division.
