Lamar Jackson sealing the Baltimore Ravens’ win over the Kansas City Chiefs with a fourth-down conversion was the highlight of Week 2 in the NFL. The Ravens avoided the dreaded 0-2 start and kept their playoff hopes in good shape. Not only did they beat their so-called “kryptonite,” but they also regained the trust of the oddsmakers.

Baltimore is now at the top of the odds standings in the AFC North, overtaking the Cleveland Browns. WynnBET has the Ravens’ odds at +110, while the Browns are at +120. These two teams are going to go back and forth in the standings all year long, but this is a big step for Baltimore and Jackson.

With three running backs out for the year, Ronnie Stanley and Marcus Peters hurt and Rashod Bateman still yet to make his debut, Jackson is being asked to do a lot to keep the Ravens afloat.

The Ravens will get a chance -- and a great one at that -- to get above .500 this week, as they are playing the Detroit Lions. Baltimore is a 7.5-point favorite and should be able to run all over the Lions’ defense.

With both teams being 1-1, the only difference is that the Ravens were able to beat the Chiefs while the Browns blew a fourth-quarter lead to Kansas City. Both teams should win this week and keep pace with each other.

The key to the season will be when these two teams play each other. They play twice in three weeks, which will give bettors a clear picture of which team can handle the other better. When that stretch comes, expect the odds to move significantly. Until then, let’s watch the collision course play out.
