Steph Curry Rising, Luka Doncic Falling in Latest NBA MVP Odds
By Peter Dewey
There’s a new favorite to win NBA MVP at WynnBET, as Steph Curry has jumped to the top of the list following his 50-point outburst against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night.
BetSided’s own Donnavan Smoot wrote that Curry deserved to be the favorite even though he was second behind Luka Doncic in the odds coming into today.
“Curry hasn’t won the MVP since 2016, but if the Golden State Warriors find themselves with the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, Curry atop the scoring list and a title run on the horizon, there isn’t much to argue about.
“When the Warriors were the eighth-seed last season, Curry was a finalist for the award. He’s just as good now and his team is giving him the support he needs. Jump on the train now, because there’s no stopping it once it gets going.”
Doncic, who hit a game-winning shot against the Boston Celtics this past weekend, has gotten off to a slower start than some expected in the 2021-22 season.
He’s fallen to fourth on the list, but that doesn’t mean he still can’t win the award. Ja Morant (+2000) has propelled himself into the picture as well, but most of the top contenders remained the same through this update.
