Thursday Night Football is the mid-week answer for NFL bettors’ prayers. And with just the one game to be played, it feels like all plays are magnified. So, let's bust out that magnifying glass and take a closer look at one matchup: Who will have more passing yards? Taylor Heinicke or Daniel Jones?

Here’s how the passing yards totals props have been set, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook:

Daniel Jones: 230.5 passing yards (Over-115/Under-115)

Taylor Heinicke: 241.5 passing yards (Over -115/Under -115)

Based on the prop bets at WynnBET, Heinicke is projected to finish with more passing yards. But let’s keep digging.

Last week, the New York Giants got beat by the Denver Broncos by two touchdowns, and on their own turf, too. It was a disappointment to many. The Giants struggled to put up any points and had to keep chucking the pigskin in an attempt to stay alive. Jones finished with 37 pass attempts and collected 267 passing yards on the day, just 7.22 yards per attempt.

Heinicke came in for the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter, and played strongly against a daunting Los Angeles Chargers defense. Heinicke attempted just 15 passes after his entrance into the contest, but recorded 8.13 yards per attempt.

New York did give up 165 rushing yards to the Broncos, which could bode well for Antonio Gibson. If Gibson becomes a large focal point in Thursday’s matchup, Heinicke may be able to play a more game manager-style role instead of needing to do an impression of Brett Favre.

The Football Team defense did give up 337 passing yards last week, but that was to Justin Herbert. But, with the Giants running back Saquon Barkley dealing with a knee issue, and the team heading to Washington off a short week, Jones may be asked to do much more than usual.

I’ll say Daniel Jones will have more passing yards than Heinicke in this Thursday contest, and I’ll take Jones to hit the over 230.5, too.
