The Sweet 16 gets underway on Thursday, March 24th, and we've got a great matchup between No. 3 Texas Tech and No. 2 Duke at 9:39 PM EST.

Texas Tech destroyed Montana State before holding off Notre Dame in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament while Duke secured a double-digit victory against Cal State-Fullerton and a nine-point win against Michigan State.

Both teams have been poor spread bets lately, with the Red Raiders going 2-6 against the spread (ATS) over their last eight and the Blue Devils going 1-5 ATS in their last six.

With Coach K's impending retirement, each game Duke plays could be the last of his legendary career - will the Blue Devils shrug off the pressure and advance to the Elite Eight or will Texas Tech's stingy defense bring Coach K's career to a close?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET and the statistical profile of each squad to find a winner in this West Region Sweet 16 matchup:

Texas Tech vs. Duke Prediction and Pick

BetSided's Ben Heisler picked the Red Raiders to advance and I'm in complete agreement with him. The Blue Devils have looked ripe for an upset for a while now and haven't played a defense anywhere close to Texas Tech's level since November.

Texas Tech has the best defense in the country while Duke ranks in the 1st percentile in defensive rating over their last five games. The Red Raiders aren't a great offensive team, but they're getting hot from deep at the right time. With a 94th-percentile ranking in three-point shooting over their last five, Texas Tech can take advantage of this leaky Blue Devils' defense.

The concern for me coming into the tournament for Texas Tech was that they'd play an excellent defense and their offense would falter. But Duke has one of the worst defenses in the field and has been the literal worst in March, so I'm not worried and think the Red Raiders dominate from start to finish.

We've seen some bad habits creep up from Duke's stars as they try to force the issue on offense to compensate for their defensive struggles, but Texas Tech's disciplined defense will take advantage of those poor decisions.

Duke is already in unfamiliar territory as an underdog and between the off-court pressure from Coach K's retirement and the on-court pressure from the Red Raiders defense, I think they'll be overwhelmed. Coach K's career is going to end tomorrow night.

Pick: Texas Tech -1 (-110)
