This may be the biggest “Sunday Night Football” game ever played, in terms of hype, because we are finally getting Tom Brady’s return to Foxboro. Brady and the Patriots parted ways after the 2019 season. In their one season apart, Brady won a Super Bowl last season and Belichick coached the team to a 7-9 record.

Before Brady and Belichick see each other for the first time since the break up, here are a couple of trends you should know heading into the game. The Buccaneers are -310 favorites on the moneyline and 7-point favorites against the spread.

Brady and the Bucs know how to rebound

Tampa Bay didn’t lose often last year, but they knew exactly how to get back on track when they did. The Bucs were 4-1 SU after a loss last season, with their only consecutive losses coming in Weeks 11 and 12 when they played the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams, respectively.

The Buccaneers just lost to the Rams for a second straight season and knowing how the Buccaneers respond, combined with the gravity of this game, it wouldn’t surprise me if Tampa Bay came out on fire and got right back in its groove.

Belichick is average without Brady

The No. 1 thing that’s been debated after Brady’s departure is whether the Patriots’ dynasty was more about Brady or Belichick. Based on this trend, Brady should get the credit. The Patriots are 5-5 ATS and SU after a loss since Tom Brady left. New England had its ups and downs last year and moving on from the GOAT quarterback is never an easy thing to do. However, the Patriots fell right in the middle of the pack.

Belichick is the GOAT coach, but it may not matter come Sunday night

The Patriots have struggled with the NFC

New England just lost to the New Orleans Saints, which continued its struggles against NFC teams. New England is 1-4 SU since 2020 against NFC opponents. Normally, the Patriots are ready to play anyone, anywhere, but the thought of playing somebody out of conference is clearly a scary one for them.

With the defending champions coming into town, this record could get worse.
