Chicago White Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays Prediction and Pick

While this season has been a struggle for the White Sox, they are in good shape to grab a win against the Rays on Sunday. The team continues to dominate left handed pitching, which they face in Rays' starter Yarbrough, posting the 6th highest OPS in baseball this year. Overall, the White Sox haven't had a ton of reps against the lefties, second fewest in baseball, and I believe they can take advantage on the road.

Chicago should be in good shape too with Lucas Giolito who is looking to shake off his worst start of the year last time out against the Blue Jays. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits in 4.2 innings, but besides that has been his typically sturdy starter, striking out nearly 13 batters per 9 innings, yet to allow more than 3 runs outside of his last.

Ultimately, I'm going to pounce on Giolito at this price, I think last start was an outlier and the White Sox should take advantage of one of the few times they see a lefty and grab a victory as they head back home to face the Dodgers.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs Prediction and Pick

When I look at teams that I’m not sold on so far this season, the Chicago Cubs certainly make the list, as they haven’t done enough to make any of us believe in them this season.

I’m really concerned about the Cubbies at home, where they are just 11-19 straight up this season.

St. Louis will have the always reliable Adam Wainwright on the mound in this game against Justin Steele who has a 5.40 ERA, but a 3.22 FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) this season. Wainwright has been fantastic as of late, allowing just six earned runs over his last 32 innings of work.

The Cubs may hang around since they aren’t the bottom of the barrel in the NL, but this is a no-brainer to take St. Louis in my eyes.

Minnesota Twins vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction and Odds

Toronto is going to lean on Kevin Gausman in this one. The Twins are in the middle of the pack in terms of strikeouts per game, but Gausman has the stuff to get them swinging and missing.

This year, Gausman has an ERA just above 2.50, is top 10 in strikeouts and has a top 15 record. He’s going to set the tone for the Jays and lead them to another win.

Another reason why I’m fading Minnesota is because of their inconsistency. They have sprinkled in a few blowout wins in between bad losses over the last two weeks. I think Gausman puts enough pressure on the Twins and exposes them for being in the rut they’re currently in.
