Thursday Night Football is going to be propped up as Joe Burrow against Trevor Lawrence, but watch out for the Laviska Shenault Jr. show.

WynnBET has his prop bet for receptions at 4.0, with the over (-130) favoring the under (+100). With the Bengals’ as overwhelming 7.5-point favorites at home, Jacksonville could find themselves passing downfield to catch up in the second half.

One of the main reasons I’m so high on Shenault Jr. is that the opportunities have been there and will be there this week. He’s averaging nearly seven targets a game, seen a minimum of four per game, and caught all of his targets in Week 3. Also, the Bengals give up the third-most completions in the league (30.0), so there will be passes and targets to go around.

The Jaguars are using Shenault Jr. closer to the line and trying to get him the ball in space. With that strategy, his targets are easier to reel in and should make for a good day at work.

One of the concerns that I have about Shenault Jr. is that his usage dropped last week. After being on the field for 80% of the snaps in Week 2, he was only on the field for 65% of the snaps in Week 3. Shenault Jr. isn’t the No. 1 receiver and needs to at least be on the field to get the opportunities I mentioned earlier.

He was on the field for 70% of the snaps in Week 1, which makes me feel a little better, but I would be slightly cautious. Still, Shenault Jr. is a key part of what the Jaguars do offensively and the ball will come his way when he’s on the field.
