I got a chance to sit down with New York Giants Super Bowl winning wide receiver, Victor Cruz, ahead of this weekend's Conference Championship games.

We covered a variety of topics, including fashion, his Giants' playoff chances next season, his picks for the final weeks of the NFL Playoffs, his Super Bowl partnership with Captain Morgan, and how he felt my salsa dance stacks up.

Of course I had to put him on the spot about his Giants. The franchise recently let go both their general manager and head coach, and after a 4-13 season, things are looking bleak for his former team.

I asked him if he'd bet on the Giants to make the playoffs next year. To be honest, I was expecting him to say yes and I was prepared to grill him for it, but to my surprise, he gave a refreshingly honest answer.

"Where we stand right now, I can honestly say no. We need to see some more things happen, we need to instill some more confidence in the fan base that what they're doing and the things that are changing there, the new GM, who they're going to hire as head coach. We just need to be assured that those things are moving in the right direction before I can put any playoff burdens on my team before the next season even starts."

A very fair and honest answer from the guy who caught the opening touchdown for the Giants in their Super Bowl 46 win over the Patriots.

I was happy to find out that Cruz and I agree on picks for this weekend's AFC and NFC Conference Championship games. He's backing the Bengals to cover the 7-point spread against the Chiefs, and the Rams to win and cover the 3.5-point spread against the 49ers.

"I think the Bengals can keep it close. Obviously, the Chiefs are the Chiefs, but the Bengals have shown enough fire power, enough resilience, that defense has been playing well. I think it's going to be more of a last-second field goal, win by one, win by three kind of thing."

"This one, I think the Rams can beat them by more than three. If they get out to a hot start, and they get everyone clicking, they jump out like they did last week, I think they can potentially sustain a lead and win by more than three points, so I think they can cover."

Finally, he made his Super Bowl pick that it'd be the Chiefs over the Rams in the big game.

To finish the interview, I wanted to show the Salsa King my own (terrible) version of his dance, and to get his thoughts. You'll have to watch the full video on YouTube to see how I did.
